Abstract: A battery temperature adjusting device for a vehicle on which a battery is mounted, the battery being a lithium ion battery disposed near a powertrain unit inside an engine bay, is provided. The device includes a first air duct provided to an intake passage configured to lead intake air to a combustion chamber of an engine, a second air duct provided to the intake passage and provided with an intake opening that opens toward a space between the powertrain unit and the battery, an intake-air-amount adjusting part, and a controller configured to acquire an ambient temperature of the powertrain unit. The controller increases a ratio of the second intake air amount relative to the sum of the first intake air amount and the second intake air amount, when the ambient temperature exceeds a first threshold temperature, compared with when the ambient temperature is below the first threshold temperature.

Abstract: A lithium-ion battery device comprises a housing, a battery cell stored inside the housing, and an adjacent member provided adjacently to and on a rearward side, in a vehicle longitudinal direction, of the battery cell. The battery cell comprises a cell case, an electrode body stored inside the cell case, and a pair of terminals. The cell case includes a first main face and a second main face which face to each other in the vehicle longitudinal direction. At least two gap-forming portions which respectively have a smaller area than the second main face and have a specified thickness of the vehicle longitudinal direction are arranged between the second main face and the adjacent member. The two gap-forming portions are provided to be spaced apart from each other in an inter-terminal direction of the battery cell.

Abstract: A vehicle battery system configured to appropriately control a battery installed in a vehicle includes a controller and a rechargeable battery installed in the vehicle in a replaceable manner, charged by an electric power generator, and supplies electric power to auxiliary equipment of the vehicle. The controller determines whether a first battery or a second battery with charging efficiency lower than the first battery is installed in the vehicle as the rechargeable battery and, when determining that the second battery is installed as the rechargeable battery, makes the maximum generated power voltage that is the maximum value of the generated power voltage of the electric power generator higher than when determining that the first battery is installed.
