Abstract: A method for automatically providing error status data is to be performed by a baseboard management control system of a computer device, and includes steps of: A) accessing error status data that is recorded in a CPU of the computer device and that is related to data of at least one error status of the computer device, B) determining whether the error status data corresponds to at least, one of a plurality of specific error statuses associated with the computer device, and C) transmitting the error status data to a management terminal via a network when it is determined that the error status data corresponds to at least one of the plurality of specific error statuses.

Abstract: A method for interrupting a packet storm in a server is implemented by a baseboard management controller (BMC) included in the server and includes the steps of: assigning a setting value included in firmware of the BMC to a first value so as to enable receipt of specific packets from a network, the specific packets being transmitted using a specific routing scheme; determining whether a packet storm has occurred according to a number of the specific packets that are received; and assigning the setting value to a second value so as to disable receipt of the specific packets when it is determined that the packet storm has occurred.

Abstract: A method of detecting power reset of a server includes: after receiving an event signal, determining whether or not to initialize a random access memory (RAM) of a baseboard management controller (BMC) of the server based on the event signal thus received, and initializing the RAM when it is determined to initialize the same; determining whether a protocol error event has occurred according to a flag value of a power reset flag stored in the RAM; determining whether malfunction of a processor unit of the BMC has occurred when it is determined that the protocol error event has not occurred; and determining that a power reset event has occurred when it is determined that malfunction of the processor unit has not occurred.
