Abstract: An electronic device includes a communication device and a user interface. The communication device detects establishment of an electrical communication channel to a content presentation companion device. One or more processors operable with the communication device and the user interface cause the communication device to query the content presentation companion device for a content presentation companion device port facilitating the electrical communication channel and, in response, cause the user interface to identify the content presentation companion device port.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a device housing, a front-facing imager, one or more sensors, a blade assembly carrying a blade and slidably coupled to the device housing and operable to slidably transition between an extended position where the blade extends beyond an edge of the device housing a retracted position where a major surface of the blade abuts a major surface of the device housing and a peek position in which the blade reveals the front-facing imager. The electronic device includes one or more processors. The one or more processors cause the blade assembly to transition to the peek position in response to a document scanning application operating on the one or more processors invoking an image capture operation and the one or more sensors determining the front-facing imager is oriented toward a document.

Abstract: An electronic device, a method, and a computer program product provides freeze frame videos in place of a live video feed to a video communication session. A processor of the electronic device determines that a local participant is connected via the electronic device to an ongoing video communication session with second participants having corresponding second participant devices. The processor captures, via an image capturing device, local video encompassing the local participant. The processor determines a video segment of the local video to identify as a freeze frame video. The processor presents the freeze frame video to the video communication session in response to a trigger condition that pauses a presentation of live video feed of the local participant to the video communication session. The processor loops the presentation of the freeze frame video until an expiration of a threshold maximum time established for presenting the freeze frame video.

Abstract: An electronic device (e.g., a smartphone or tablet) can be connected to another electronic device (e.g., a mobile device such as a laptop or a non-mobile device such as a desktop computer or workstation), allowing the electronic devices to be used together. This connection can be a wired connection or a wireless connection. When the electronic devices are connected, a single input control device (e.g., a trackpad on a laptop or a mouse) can be used to control user input for both devices. Whether a single input control device can be used to control user input for both devices is determined based at least in part on whether the displays of the two electronic devices are spatially aligned, such as whether the displays are positioned at approximately the same angle relative to a surface (e.g., the horizon) and are facing approximately the same direction.

Abstract: An electronic device (e.g., a smartphone or tablet) can be connected to another electronic device that is typically a computing device (e.g., a mobile device such as a laptop or a non-mobile device such as a desktop computer or workstation), allowing the electronic devices to be used together. This connection can be a wired connection or a wireless connection. The relative location of one of the electronic devices relative to the other of the electronic devices is automatically determined by analyzing changes in the gaze of the user of the electronic devices. An indication of the position of one of the electronic devices relative to the other is then displayed on one of the electronic devices.
