Abstract: Methods and systems for processing audio information to identify persons of interest in regard to a public-safety incident. An example method includes receiving human-generated narrative statements as audio and converting the narrative statements into corresponding digital texts. The method further includes determining incriminating scores for each of the narrative statements by identifying, in the digital texts, incident information classified as not being publicly known. The method further includes determining a cumulative score for an individual based on the incriminating scores tagged to the individual, making a determination of whether the individual is a person of interest based on a comparison of the cumulative score with a fixed threshold, and performing at least one automated responsive action based on the determination.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for creating a composite image of a person is provided herein. During operation, a witness is presented with a plurality of attributes of an individual. A witness selection of an attribute is received from the presented attributes. Images of individuals who were at an incident scene at a time of the incident are received and analyzed to determine images of those individuals with attributes similar to the attribute selected by the witness. The images of those individuals with the attributes similar to the attribute selected by the witness are processed by redacting information from the images to produce a plurality of processed images. The witness is then presented with the plurality of processed images.

Abstract: A recognition device and method for recognizing a target. The recognition device includes a sensor and an electronic processor. The electronic processor identifies the target based on the identity profile and determines, based on at least one selected from the group consisting of a location of the target, speed of the target, and a direction of movement of the target, a virtual geographic boundary. The electronic processor causes a transmission of the at least one selected from the group consisting of the identity profile and the characteristic to at least one associated device located in the virtual geographic boundary.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided in this disclosure for operating an electronic device. The electronic device includes a user interface, a microphone, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor determines whether a user assistance restriction is established for a current functional operation of the electronic device. Abstract: Systems and methods described for text entry for multi-user text-based communication using a portable communication device with a graphical user interface shown on a display. A plurality of text character icons are displayed on a display by an electronic processor in a center area of the graphical user interface and messages are displayed along a perimeter area of the graphical user interface. A selection of one or more text character icons in the center area of the graphical user interface is detected and a new text message is generated based on the detected selection of the one or more text character icons.
