Abstract: A process of selectively enabling execution of video analytics on videos captured by cameras. In operation, an electronic computing device accesses an incident database identifying incidents resolved by one or more agencies. The incidents include a first set of incidents that were first reported to the agencies by a human source and a second set of incidents that were first reported to the agencies by a video analytics system. The electronic computing device then estimates a first average cost incurred in resolving the first set of incidents and a second average cost incurred in resolving the second set of incidents. The electronic computing device enables the video analytics system to execute video analytics on videos captured by the one or more cameras to proactively detect and report incidents when the first average cost is higher than the second average cost by at least the predefined threshold.

Abstract: Systems and methods of projecting graphical objects are disclosed. In one example, a system includes a virtual reality (VR) rendering engine configured to generate a virtual reality space of a geographic region of interest with a graphical feature that represents a physical feature in the geographic region of interest. A display is configured to display a VR graphical user interface (GUI) with the generated virtual reality space and a menu including graphical objects. A graphical object may be placed on the graphical feature in the virtual reality space. A projector interface determines a projection surface on the physical feature based on the placement of the graphical object in the virtual reality space and generates instructions for a projector to project an image of the graphical object onto the projection surface in the physical feature of the geographic region of interest.

Abstract: A process and device for responding to a query includes receiving, at an electronic computing device, a query for providing a response at a first communication device. The process further includes determining that the response to the query is to be provided as a group response to communication devices in the first communication group. When one or more of the communication devices do not have permission to receive the group response, the electronic computing device causes modification of the group response to generate a second response and provides the second response to at least one of the communication devices in the first communication group. Alternatively, the electronic computing device alters an output action and provides the group response to at least one of the communication devices in the first communication group in accordance with the altered output action.
