摘要： One end of a short length of copper tubing is bifurcated for connection with a line to be tapped in straddling relation. The other end of the copper tube surrounds and is connected to an internally threaded bushing. A generally cylindrical centrally bored air valve core equipped housing is threadedly connected at one end portion with the bushing. The bushing connected end of the housing is provided with a coaxial line piercing tip for piercing the line to be tapped as the housing is threadedly engaged with the bushing.

摘要： An automatic shoe polishing machine is provided for polishing a shoe. The shoe, while on the foot of the wearer, is placed on a shoe support in an opening in the machine housing. Rotating side polish application brushes pick up polish from a dispenser and move along the sides of a shoe applying polish to the shoe. Rotating side buffing brushes follow the applicator brushes. After applying the polish, the applicator brushes move out of contact with the shoe so they will not contact the shoe as the are returned to their starting position. A brush applies polish to the toe of the shoe after which another brush buffs the toe. The movement of the brushes is coordinated by having the movement of the two toe brushes controlled by movement of the side brushes. The applicator brushes pick up polish from cavities in a polish dispensing body just before they move into contact with the shoe. The cavities are closed except when dispensing polish to keep the polish from being exposed to the drying effect of the air when the machine is not in operation.

摘要： A generally cylindrical centrally bored housing is coaxially secured at one end portion within a short length of copper tubing. The other end of the copper tubing is contoured for connection with a fluid containing line. A tubular core, having a transparent disk closing its bore adjacent one end portion and a line piercing tip formed on its other end portion and having an overall length slightly less than the combined length of the housing and copper tubing, is coaxially received by the bore of the housing. A cap, removably engaged threadedly with the free end of the housing, forces the line piercing tip into the line and seals the core with the housing and the line.

摘要： A cylindrical body is provided with a laterally open transverse slot intermediate its ends for receiving and nesting an intermediate portion of a line to be tapped. One end of the body is externally threaded for receiving a nut and forcing a follower into engagement with a peripheral portion of a line nested by the body slot. In one embodiment a wall piercing tip, projecting into the body slot, is forced into the line by the nut moving the follower. A wall piercing service valve is threadedly connected with the body opposite its threaded end for communicating with the line piercing tip. In another embodiment a wall piercing service valve is coaxially received by a threaded bore in the body at its end opposite its threaded end which pierces the wall of the line nested by the body slot.

摘要： This invention relates to an apparatus and method for automatically bagging material, especially ice cubes, and is particularly adapted to be coin operated. The apparatus includes a carrier having a measuring cavity therein with the carrier being reciprocable between a rearward position where the cavity is filled by the material to be bagged and a forward discharge position where the measured quantity of material is dumped into an open bag. A supply of flattened plastic bags is provided below the carrier and are supported by rods passing through openings in an upward extension of the rear side of the bag. The bags are supported in a bag storage section in such a way that a portion of the rearward wall extension of the bag is inclined upwardly and rearwardly away from the remainder of the bag. When it is desired to open the bag, a rod having a thin lower end is released to engage the inclined surface of the first bag and then is moved along this surface to drop inside the bag and then to partially open the bag. After the bag has been partially opened, a bag supporting means is clamped to the forward side of the bag to move it to a more fully open position and to move the lower end of the bag away from the remaining bags so that a door can be slid between the bag in the filling section and the other bags in the storage section. After the bag has been filled, the bag supporting means is released from the bag and a heat sealing means is actuated to form a heat seal across the upper portion of the bag. The bag can then be pulled from the supporting rods and removed from the machine.
