For attaining the object described above, a quartz bulb in which extension tubes each having an inner diameter larger than the inner diameter of the opening of a body tube is welded the openings of both ends of a body tube formed with light emitting portion and a sealing portion thereby forming to a positioning step is used, and electrode mounts each formed with a positioning engagement portion at a position spaced apart by a predetermined length from the electrode top end are inserted to engage the positioning engagement portion of the electrode mounts to the positioning step and, in this state, the sealing portions are sealed.

    摘要: The invention relates to a light source device having a high-voltage discharge lamp (1) on which a trigger line (10) for triggering the lamp is attached. The high-voltage discharge lamp (1) is formed such that an arc tube (7) having a pair of substantially cylindrical sealing portions (9R, 9L) formed on both sides in the longitudinal direction with a light emitting portion (8) in between is sealed with electrode assemblies (3R, 3L). The trigger line (10) is formed such that its one end (10a) is connected to a power supply lead (6), which is of the electrode assembly (3L) and protruded from the one sealing portion (9L), and its other end (10c) is wound around the outer circumference of the other sealing portion (9R). In the light source device, in order to drastically improve the performance for triggering and retriggering the lamp (1), a vicinity guide portion (C) including a hollow groove (11) and an insert opening (17) is formed on a cylindrical portion of the other sealing portion (9R) at a position away from the light emitting portion (8). The vicinity guide portion (C) allows the trigger line (10) to be disposed at a distance shorter than the distance from the electrode assembly to the outer circumference surface of the cylindrical portion.

    摘要: A short-arc discharge lamp capable of reducing the likelihood of cracks starting at an end face of a reflection mirror neck unit. Such cracks can be caused by heat generated from the discharge lamp. The short-arc discharge lamp includes a glass reflection mirror having a reflection surface of an even-order function on an inner surface thereof and formed by embossing. The short-arc discharge lamp is arranged with respect to an optical axis of the reflection mirror. A base of the discharge lamp is fixed to an insertion hole in a hollow neck unit formed in a bottom center of the reflection mirror. Furthermore, a base peripheral portion on the inner surface of the insertion hole in the hollow neck unit has a cylindrical shape with a narrow portion formed to extend from the cylindrical shape toward the reflection surface. Finally, an embossed portion extends from the narrow portion toward the reflection surface while diverging to contact the reflection surface.
