摘要： Toner compositions of toner particles including additive particles upon an external surface of the toner particles, wherein the additive particles include crosslinked styrene containing polymer particles, exhibit reduced sensitivity to relative humidity. The crosslinked styrene containing polymer particles have an average particle size of from about 30 nm to about 300 nm, and may include styrene homopolymer particles, styrene copolymer particles or mixtures thereof. A process of reducing the relative humidity sensitivity of toner using such external surface additive is also described.

摘要： Toner particles comprise resin, wax and optionally colorants, and the wax is substantially excluded from the interior core of the toner particles. Processes for preparing such toner particles comprise providing an aqueous dispersion of resin particles and optionally colorants, mixing the aqueous dispersion in presence of a coagulant, aggregating to form particles, coalescing to form fused particles, and removing the fused particles from the aqueous dispersion. Wax dispersions can be added either after mixing or during aggregation, so that wax is excluded from the core of the toner particles.

摘要： Toner compositions include a non cross linked resin; a cross linked resin or gel; a wax; and a colorant. Processes for preparing a toner include mixing a non-cross linked resin and a cross-linked resin or gel in the presence of a wax, a colorant, and a coagulant to provide toner size aggregates; adding additional non-cross linked latex to the formed aggregates thereby providing a shell over the formed aggregates; heating the shell covered aggregates to form toner; and, optionally, isolating the toner.

摘要： Toner including toner particles having a calcium-containing material at least in a surface portion of the toner particle, wherein the toner particles contain calcium in an amount of from 20 ppm to about 300 ppm of calcium by dry weight of the toner. Developer including a carrier and a toner, wherein the toner includes toner particles having a calcium-containing material at least in a surface portion of the toner particles. In an emulsion aggregation process for making toner particles, the toner particles are treated with calcium. The addition of calcium to the toner particles improves toner performance by lowering cohesion and charging, thereby generating an image of high gloss.

摘要： A developer includes black toner particles and carrier particles, the black toner particles including at least one binder, at least one black colorant and one or more external additives, wherein the toner particles comprise from about 7 to about 15 pph of the developer, and wherein the toner particles exhibit a triboelectric charge of from about −25 to about −50 μC/g at toner particle concentrations of about 7 to about 15 pph of the developer. The developer is ideally suited for use in a high speed (greater than 100 prints per minute) semiconductive magnetic brush development apparatus. Preferably, the black toner particles include a styrene acrylate binder, and the external additives include from about 1.3 to about 2.1% by weight of the toner particles of a first silica having an average particle size of from about 35 to about 45 nm, from about 0.5 to about 1.0% by weight of the toner particles of a second silica having an average particle size of from about 135 to about 160 nm, and from about 0.2 to about 0.5% by weight of the toner particles of a titania having an average particle size of from about 35 to about 45 nm, with an external additive toner surface area coverage of from about 25 to about 45%.
