    摘要: In an event detection and monitoring system displaying event data in both tabular and chart formats, the displays of each are tightly-coupled to one another so that when a user selects an event in one format the corresponding event in the other format is highlighted or otherwise emphasized. When a user selects a row containing an event of interest in the event log table, the symbol in the event log chart corresponding to the selected event is simultaneously highlighted. Similarly, when a user selects a symbol in the event log chart corresponding to an event of interest, the row in the event log table containing the corresponding event is simultaneously highlighted. In addition, the rows of the event log table can be sorted and filtered according to predetermined criteria, and the events selected by the filters are highlighted in the chart with indicia distinguishing the filter.

    摘要: A system, method, or computer program product for navigating an object in a virtual reality world in accordance with the present invention provides for receiving a pivot control signal from a user via a graphic user interface (GUI) control, and pivoting the object in response to the pivot control signal. The GUI control preferably comprises a compass control configured for receiving the pivot control signals from a user through a point and click device such as a mouse. By clicking on the compass control interface, the user can cause the object, such as an avatar, to rotate a relative number of degrees from its original direction substantially instantaneously, or alternatively, the user may depress a mouse button and drag the pointer about the compass control so as to cause the object to turn under essentially real time control of the user while displaying a view of the object during the pivot. Further, an incoming stimulus indicator may be provided in the compass control so that the user can pivot to face the incoming stimulus.

    摘要: For rotational graphical user interface navigation, a display module displays a first face of a uniform prism rotatable only about a central horizontal axis. The uniform prism includes a plurality of faces. Each face has Graphical User Interface (GUI) controls for a unique function set. Only one face of the uniform prism is visible at a time. Each face is displayed with a geometric shape conforming to a face geometry of the multidimensional solid when the multidimensional solid is being rotated, and a face is displayed as filling a screen when the multidimensional solid is not being rotated. An input module receives a rotational command. The rotational command rotates the uniform prism around the central horizontal axis. The rotation module rotates the uniform prism to display a second face in response to the rotational command, displaying the rotation of the uniform prism.

    摘要: An approach is provided to display a grid user-interface on a display. The grid user-interface includes a number of medium-sized windows that are displayed in a grid format. Each of the medium-sized windows has a substantially common width and a substantially common height to the other medium-sized windows. The system receives a mixed-mode request from a user. The mixed-mode request corresponds to a selected application that is displayed in one of the medium-sized windows. A second user-interface is displayed in response to receiving the mixed-mode request. The selected application is displayed in a large window and a plurality of small-sized windows is displayed adjacent to the large window. Each of the small-sized windows also has a substantially common width and a substantially common height to the other small-sized windows.
