A display apparatus may include subpixels having a first electrode layer and a second electrode layer. The first electrode layer of an edge subpixel may include an opening, which may be made large enough to prevent the edge subpixel from actuating. The size of the openings also may be selected to attain a desired overall reflectivity for an array of edge subpixels. For example, the size of the openings may be selected to make the reflectivity of an edge pixel array similar to the reflectivity of a routing area.

The method includes the steps of providing a substrate including a polymer; and inducing a phase transformation at a selected surface region of the substrate, such that the phase transformation forms a texture at the selected surface region. The texture includes a plurality of features having a largest characteristic dimension of up to about 50 microns. An article with controlled wettability is provided. The article has a selected surface region including a polymer. At least about 80% of surface area includes a plurality of features having a largest characteristic dimension of up to about 50 microns. The plurality of features further includes a plurality of nanoscale surface features and the selected surface region has the surface wettability sufficient to generate, with a reference fluid, a static contact angle of at least about 120° C.

    摘要: An electrically conductive enclosure shield is disposed between a rotor enclosure and the rotor winding assemblies. The shield reduces transverse shear loads generated by non-uniform centrifugal radial forces in a generator rotor, while providing adequate electromagnetic shielding for the field winding. Ventilation holes in the shield enable ventilation gas discharge, and shallow ridges may be provided that serve as axial positioning guides for enclosure rings. Additionally, the enclosure shield advantageously adds axial stiffness to the rotor.
