    摘要: A contoured roof ventilation system includes a support structure, with a vent opening through the support structure located along a ridge of the roof. A contoured roofing material is located on the support structure and defines a plurality of crests and valleys. First and second vent strips are located on opposite sides of the vent opening along the ridge, and have a first surface complementary to the crests and valleys of the contoured roofing material in an installed position, and a plurality of longitudinally extending slots that extend parallel to the ridge to define at least three spaced apart vent material ribbons, and a second surface. At least one water barrier is positioned above the second surfaces of the first and second vent strips and extends toward the ridge. Cap pieces having a lower surface that contacts the second surfaces of the first and second strips or the water barrier are located on the first and second strips.

    摘要: A roof ventilation system for asphalt shingle or composition roofs which include a vent slot located through the roof structure along a roof ridge is provided. An unrollable vent assembly that is installable in one piece is formed from an upper water barrier having first and second vent arrangements connected thereto, and each of the first and second vent arrangements include at least two continuous longitudinal strips of a vent material with a continuous longitudinally extending space therebetween separating the strips. The strips and the longitudinally extending space are positionable on the roof parallel to the ridge so that the first and second vent arrangements are located on each side of the ridge vent slot, respectively. The vent system prevent ingress of moisture and debris, and the upper water barrier extends between the first and second vent arrangements and over the vent slot in the installed position.

    摘要: A roof ventilation system having a strip with an air-permeable portion located adjacent to a ridge slot. Stand-off clips are provided which can be placed over the air-permeable strip at fastener locations which are located on flat portions of the roof panels. The stand-off clip is U-shaped and include a flange at each end of the U-shape. The flanges extend in the same direction. A sealing material may be placed beneath the air-permeable strip at such fastener locations to prevent the ingress of moisture beneath the panels.

    摘要: A roof ridge venting system using a mat constructed of randomly-aligned synthetic fibers which are joined by phenolic or latex binding agents and heat cured to provide an air-permiable mat with a varying mesh. The mat is a unitary sheet construction having no dissimilar sheets laminated or otherwise bonded together. In an alternative embodiment for use with heavier slate or terra cota tiles, the mat includes a grid pattern of small solid cores extending through the thickness of the mat.

    摘要: A roof ventilation system for ventilating a building with a metal roof formed of a series of metal panels joined by standing seams, and having a vent slot disposed along the roof ridge in proximity to an edge of the metal panels. A plurality of clips are disposed at intervals on each side of the vent slot. Each clip is adapted to slip onto the upper edge of the metal panels and to straddle one of the standing seams. The clip includes a top cap-engaging portion, a hook portion formed by a lower leg and an upper leg spaced for receiving the upper edge of adjacent metal panels, and a wall portion which extends between the upper leg of the hook portion and the cap-engaging portion. The cap-engaging portion, the upper leg and the wall portion define a channel adapted to retain sections of air-permeable venting material along the vent slot. A slot in the clip extends through the upper leg and the side wall for receiving the standing seam. The clip may be formed from a flat rectangular sheet.A plurality of air-permeable venting material sections extend between adjacent clips on one side of the open slot and substantially fill the channels in the clips. A cap element overlies the venting material sections and spans the open slot.

    摘要: A roof ridge and hip ridge vent system for contoured roofs which include a vent slot located through the roof structure. A contoured roofing material forms the roof surface. Vent strips are provided on the roof surface that extend on each side of the vent slot. The vent strip is comprised of synthetic fibers that are randomly aligned into an open web by an air flow and then joined by a phenolic or latex binder to form an air permeable mesh material having a generally uniform thickness, a density of about 0.08 to 0.1 grams per cubic centimeter (1.3 to 1.6 grams per cubic inch), and a crush recovery of at least 80%. A first longitudinally extending groove extends from the bottom surface about 40% to 60% of a height of the vent strip and is located a distance of at least about 1 inch from a downslope side.
