    摘要: The invention is a portable, redundant, barrier-based continuous filter system which employs a two-stage filter. The first stage is a mesh strainer to eliminate sticks and other large debris, and then a second stage consisting of a series of barrier plates which abruptly change the direction of the fluid and thereby encourages sand and other particles to settle at the bottom of the tank. A two-filter system is disclosed that allows for continuous cleaning by employing two filter tanks which alternate between filtering and cleaning cycles. The two tanks are connected with valves so that the fluid first is filtered by one tank, and then switched to the second tank when the first tank requires cleaning.

    摘要: An obturator is provided which allows for placing and withdrawing of a single catheter obturator over an extended period of time so as to allow speed intervals of use, and non-use of a catheter while in place in the patient's skin, while at the same time doing away with cumbersome, costly and time consuming administration and maintenance of saline and heparin locks. The device feeds the obturator in place for occluding the catheter lumen, when no fluids are being administered to the patient, and then may be retracted to a position allowing fluid feed through a supply tube connection to the catheter. The device includes a coating on the obturator rod which swells in contact with aqueous fluids to seal completely the catheter lumen which coating includes heparin to prevent clotting. Moreover, the entire internal functioning arrangement remains sterile during the entire period of use, thus avoiding infection.

    摘要: A same-hand, finger-mounted, and finger-operated hand sanitizer dispensing system with finger-mounted or with remote-mounted fluid reservoir, is disclosed herein. The system is operable without risk of cross-contamination, and is operable by the contaminated hand for self-decontamination. A dispensing pump is mounted on one finger and operated by another finger on the same hand. The dispensing pump draws sanitizer from a reservoir by way of a supply tubing. The reservoir can be mounted on the same finger as the pump or on another finger of the same hand.

    摘要: A tension detector may detect and help correct tension in a lift cable. The cable may include a lift cable within a telescopic structure, such as a telescopic tower. The tension sensor may detect when the cable tension is outside a high tension threshold and a low tension threshold and trigger an alert when outside the thresholds. The alert may be an audible alert or a visual alert. A controller may prevent a user from making the tension worse and encourage an operator to correct the tension problem by preventing a winch from expanding or retracting the telescopic structure. The tension sensor may use springs to calibrate the thresholds for the high tension and low tension and a series of pulleys to manipulate an arm to engage a tension sensor.
