    摘要: A wireless communication system of a simple configuration enabled to perform both data communication and accurate ranging. In the system, a second wireless unit receives a ranging signal after a lapse of a propagation time since a first wireless unit transmits the ranging signal. Then, after a delay of an image elimination period, the second wireless unit transmits a response signal. The first wireless unit receives the response signal after a lapse of a propagation time. Then, the first wireless unit obtains the propagation time, during which the signal propagates between the first and second wireless unit, according to an elapsed time since the ranging signal is transmitted. The distance therebetween is obtained by dividing the obtained propagation time by the velocity of light. Before the image elimination period elapses, in order to eliminate the physical reflection of radio waves, the first wireless unit is inhibited from opening a reception gate.

A high-order layer packet is divided into a plurality of fragmented packets of fragment numbers, and these are transmitted via a wireless network. When an error occurs, if within a maximum permissible transmission process time, the fragmented packet of the same fragment number is retransmitted. For the high-order packet, since all the fragmented packets thereof could not be transmitted within that time due to the error, a halt flag is written into the fragmented packet of the next high-order packet.

    摘要: An apparatus and method that being capable of implementing uninterrupted communication during performing a handover process by a mobile node are provided. A mobile node transmits a handover start message containing address information of a destination access point, to a switch as a data forwarding controller, and the switch adds an entry to a MAC learning table based on the address contained in the message. The switch forwards packets addressed to the mobile node to a current access point of the mobile node as well as to its destination access point in parallel based on the entries in the MAC learning table. The mobile node can receive data packets at once upon connection to the new access point after having performed a handover.
