摘要： A power switch includes a fixed contact member 8 having a fixed contact 8A, a movable contact member 6 having a movable contact 6A movable into and out of contact with the fixed contact 8A, a commutation electrode 15 spaced from the movable contact member 6 for receiving an arc 12 generated between the fixed and movable contacts 8A, 6A when they are brought into contact with each other, and a plurality of extinguishing plates 13 for extinguishing the arc 12 transferred to the commutation electrode. The commutation electrode 15 has a first plate 15A extending parallel to the surface of the fixed contact 8A and spaced a prescribed distance from the fixed contact member 8, a second plate 15B extending parallel to the surface of the fixed contact 8A and positioned between the surface 6C of the movable contact member 6 to which no movable contact 6A is joined and the fixed contact member 8 at the time the movable contact 6A and the fixed contact 8A are separated, a third plate 15C connecting the first and second plates 15A, 15B to each other, a fourth plate 15D extending from the second plate 15B in the direction in which the movable contact 6A is separated, and a recess 15E defined in a portion confronting the movable contact 6A and extending from said second plate 15B to the third plate 15C and from the second plate 15B to the fourth plate 15D, whereby the arc can quickly be transferred to the commutation electrode 15.

摘要： An electromagnetic contactor in which an arc extinguishing chamber is defined by an insulating base and a box attached removably to the insulating base. In the arc extinguish chamber, there are accommodated fixed contact elements having fixed contacts, a movable contact element having a movable contact adapted to be brought into and out of contact with the fixed contacts of the fixed contact elements, a commutation electrode for receiving arcs established when the movable contact comes out of contact with the fixed contacts, arc extinguish metal plates for extinguishing arcs commutated to the commutation electrode, and an extinguishing plate support for supporting the arc extinguishing plates. The extinguishing plate support is formed with a groove or hole for receiving the end portion of the commutation plate so that it is held on the commutation electrode. By elastically clamping the commutation electrode between the inner wall faces of the box defining the arc extinguishing chamber, the extinguishing plate support is held in the arc extinguishing chamber by the commutation electrode.

The arc generated when the movable contact 6 is separated from the fixed contact 14 can be transferred at high speed toward the slit 16, 19 by a current produced in the commutation electrode 3.

摘要： An electromagnetic contactor in which at least one pair of contacts which disengage from each other to interrupt a current are provided in an arc-extinguishing chamber defined by a partition wall of electrically insulating material. An absorbing member of porous metal is provided on the inner surface of the partition wall to absorb molten metal particles which are formed by arcing at the time of disengagement of the contacts. A shield plate of electrically insulating material is provided on the inner surface of the absorbing member, and through-holes are formed in the partition wall of the arc-extinguishing chamber and the shield plates in such a manner that the through-holes of the partition wall are non coincident in position with those of the shield plate so that the absorbing member is protected from damage.

摘要： A switch for as an electromagnetic contactor, a circuit breaker for wiring, an air circuit breaker and so on is provided. The switch comprises a fixed contact 8A joined to a fixed contactor 8, an movable contact 6A joined to a movable contactor 6 to face the fixed contact, a plurality of arc extinguishing metallic plates 13 arranged with predetermined distances and in parallel to the fixed contactor 8 at the side of the end portion of the movable contactor 6 and a commutation plate 15 placed at the opposite side of the fixed contactor so as to interpose the movable contactor. In the switch, an end of the arc extinguishing metallic plates 13 is extended toward the movable contactor 6, and the end of the extended portion is cut to form leg portions 13fa, 13ga which allows the movement of the movable contact 6A, and it is moved to contact with the fixed contact 8A, whereby an arc produced between the movable contact 6A and the fixed contact 8A is rapidly attracted to the arc extinguishing metallic plates to allow interruption of a large electric current.

摘要： An electromagnet coil 2 wound on a fixed iron core 6 is energized by d.c. current supplied from a full-wave rectifier 1 to attract a movable armature 7. A transistor 10 is connected in series with the coil, a bias resistor 8 is connected across the coil to the base of the transistor, and a capacitor is connected between the base and collector of the transistor. The capacitor absorbs inductive energy stored in the coil 2 when the a.c. supply circuit is opened to thereby reduce the armature release time.

摘要： An electromagnetic contact having a fixed and a moveable contact which are brought into and out of disengagement by operation of an electromagnet. An arc runner substantially surrounding the contacts aide in extinguishing the arc created upon separation of the contacts. The overhanging plate of the arc runner has stoppers which engage the side plates thereby preventing the overhanging plate from bending inward and decreasing the effectiveness of the arc runner. The arc runner is also provided with lead parts to separate the arc and purge holes for passing the hot gasses generated.

摘要： A direct current electromagnetic contactor has three pairs of separable contacts each comprised of stationary and movable contacts. An electromagnetic device effects movement of the movable contacts between open and closed positions relative to the stationary contacts. An arc-extinguishing device includes at least one pair of permanent magnets having mutually opposing magnetic pole faces. The permanent magnets are positioned proximate the separable contact pairs with their pole faces of opposite magnetic polarities facing each other and defining therebetween an air gap. One of the three separable contact pairs is disposed within the air gap such that the magnetic flux lines between the two opposing permanent magnets extend perpendicular to the direction of movement of the movable contact or an electric arc between the separated contacts. The two other separable contact pairs are disposed within a space defined between planes including each magnetic pole face of each permanent magnet such that the magnetic flux lines extending through the separated contact pairs extend perpendicular to electric arcs established therebetween.
