Abstract:
The information searching apparatus in accordance with the present invention comprises: a memory device having a plurality of banks and containing a plurality of types of information data to be searched, as arranged in block; a table memory device containing, in table, the banks serving as the basis of the information to be searched, the number of changed banks and address data; and a table reading device for reading tabled information from the table memory device. This information searching apparatus is so arranged as to search the target information to be searched by obtaining the base bank information based on the tabled information from the table memory device, and by obtaining the number of changed banks and the address data of the base bank information. Further, this apparatus is arranged such that the user may learn synonyms and antonyms, or the translated terms, the phonetic symbols or the like of index words in dictionary data. Such data may be searched in a short period of time without any complicate operations, thereby to improve the learning efficiency.
Abstract:
An electronic apparatus includes: a display screen; a power supply switch; a memory for storing a plurality patterns of graphic data, select information indicating which graphic data is selected, and the number of times by which the power supply switch is operated; a controller responsive to the power supply switch being operated for controlling the display screen to display graphic data of a pattern specified by the select information; and a device for updating in accordance with a predetermined scheme the select information and the number of times of operation of the power supply switch, if the power supply switch is operated and the number of times of operation of the power supply switch satisfies predetermined conditions. For example, when the power supply switch is operated a predetermined times, a dialog screen for selecting the next pattern is displayed. The patterns may be divided into groups so that upon operating the power supply switch predetermined times, the next pattern of the group is selected, and ultimately the dialog for selecting the next group is displayed.
Abstract:
In response to a read instruction, the confidentiality of a data entry to be read from memory is determined by referencing the state of a confidentiality flag corresponding to that data entry. If the data entry is determined to be confidential, then specified codes of the data stored in the RAM are converted into different codes, i.e., the data entry is scrambled. The data entry is then displayed using the converted codes.
Abstract:
An information display apparatus having an input unit for entering a variety of data and processing requests, a processing unit, and a display unit for displaying input data and processing results is provided. The display unit displays two or more data groups in separate display areas, and provides scrolling functions to individually scroll each display area in predetermined directions as designated by the input unit. The processing unit includes an automatic power-off function for automatically turning off power to the apparatus if it remains non-operated for a predetermined time period. The processing unit also includes a continuous search function for continuously searching data in a predetermined order, and a search stop device that automatically stops a continuous search after a predetermined amount of search or search time, thereby enabling the automatic power-off function.
Abstract:
A display data secret registration drive is adapted to add secret registration data to the data in a desired row or column of table data comprising rows and columns of data and stored in a memory. When the table data is to be shown on a display, the display presents the table data other than the row or column data having the secret registration data added thereto.
Abstract:
A CPU outputs a signal from an output port group, and receives an input signal from input port group, whereby a pressed key of input key group is detected. When there are a plurality of keys which are pressed, CPU selects a key with priority based on valid key information in a ROM, and stores code data of the selected key in a key code portion. Consequently, only one of the plurality of keys pressed simultaneously is selected as an input key.
