    摘要: An apparatus for driving a floppy disc includes a first sensor responsive to a magnetic disc encased in a jacket of the floppy disc. Before the magnetic disc is gripper in a predetermined position, a d.c. motor included in a disc rotating mechanism is started in order to prevent rush current therethrough. After the start of the d.c. motor, a second sensor senses a return of the magnetic disc to a predetermined regular position whereupon a cone load drive source is activated to automatically move a cone toward a drive hub. Thus, the magnetic disc can be gripped and set in the regular position merely by inserting it into the apparatus. The apparatus also includes ejection apparatus for ejecting the floppy disc.

    摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a recording head, a water-repellent transfer belt, a pattern formation controller, a read unit, and a detection unit. The recording head has a plurality of nozzles aligned in a given direction, and ejects droplets of a liquid therefrom. The pattern formation controller directs each of the plurality of nozzles to eject the liquid to form a detection pattern on the transfer belt. The detection pattern has multiple droplets ejected from each of the plurality of nozzles sequentially arranged and spaced apart from each other both in the given direction and in a direction orthogonal to the given direction. The read unit includes a light emitting element and a light receiving element, and reads the detection pattern to output a read result. The detection unit detects a defective nozzle according to the read result.

    摘要: A sheet size detector to detect a sheet size of a recording medium includes a movable member to move in a sheet size detection direction to a position corresponding to the sheet size, a magnetic flux detector including a coil disposed on a board face parallel to the sheet size detection direction to generate a magnetic flux in a direction perpendicular to the board face, and a target to oppose the board face and including a material to affect the magnetic flux. The target is different in configuration in the sheet size detection direction to change the magnetic flux in the direction perpendicular to the board face as the movable member moves. The magnetic flux detector outputs a signal corresponding to changes in magnetic flux in the direction perpendicular to the board face, and the signal corresponds to the position of the movable member.

When alternating voltages having a same phase and same amplitude are applied to the first and second electrodes to form second electric fields between the latent image carrier and the toner carrier, the toner is discharged from the toner carrier to the latent image carrier in a toner discharge mode.

    摘要: An adjustment pattern, which is composed of a reference pattern made of plural independent liquid droplets and a pattern to be measured made of plural independent liquid droplets ejected under an ejection condition different from the reference pattern, is formed on a water-repellent conveying belt. Then, light is applied to the adjustment pattern to receive the regular reflection light from the adjustment pattern, so that the adjustment pattern is scanned. The distance between the respective patterns is measured based on the measured result. Finally, liquid droplet ejection timing of the recording head is corrected based on the result thus measured.
