摘要: A method to audit portable cassettes removeably disposed in a data storage library comprising a plurality of storage slots, a plurality of portable cassettes removeably disposed in one or more of said plurality of storage slots, and a pass-through accessor comprising a moveable fixturing apparatus, wherein the pass-through accessor is moveably disposed in said data storage library. The method disposes the pass-through accessor adjacent a first one of said plurality of storage slots, removes a first portable cassette from the first storage slot, and attaches the first portable cassette to a first fixturing assembly disposed on the fixturing apparatus. The method then removes a second portable cassette from the first storage slot, and attaches the second portable cassette to a second fixturing assembly disposed on the fixturing apparatus.

摘要: A method is provided to handle portable cassettes removeably disposed in a data storage library, wherein the method supplies a data storage library comprising a plurality of storage slots, and a plurality of portable cassettes removeably disposed a designated storage slot in a first alignment order, and a pass-through accessor comprising a moveable fixturing apparatus to store portable cassettes, wherein the pass-through accessor is moveably disposed in the data storage library. The method positions the pass-through accessor adjacent an open end of a designated storage slot, and sequentially removes and attaches to the fixturing apparatus a plurality of portable cassettes from the designated storage slot. The method then transports the plurality of portable cassettes to a designated location within the data storage library.

摘要: Tracking web page comments on a computer includes storing comments on the web page and rendering the stored comments on a next draft site web page, in accordance with comment tracking policies. The comment tracking is accomplished by storing comments on the web page, upon receiving a uniform resource locator to a draft site, then loading the draft web site into an inline frame object on an application web site and loading content of the draft web site into a portion of the application web site. After loading the content, comments are drawn on a z-layer on top of a page of the drawn draft web site, by the application web site, using a scripting language; implemented by the application web site, in accordance with stored comment tracking policies. The scripting language comments and their memory locations are transmitted back to the network server.

摘要: A method for autodiscovery of components on a network without requiring that the components have built-in knowledge of the discovery method is set forth. The method uses a combination of attempting broadcast discovery as well as listening to network traffic. More specifically, a substantially continuously executing program is executed on a management console of the network that performs the broadcast and listening functions. The autodiscovery uses these methods in combination to identify systems that are included within the VTS system.

摘要: A method for providing failure notifications to dependent nodes within a computer network is disclosed. A first node monitors data traffic within a computer network. If the data traffic includes data exchanged between the first node and a second node, the first node adds the second node to a list of interested nodes stored within the first node. If the first node experiences an error, the first node generates an error notification packet that includes a hop limit value that corresponds to a pre-defined level of nodes within the computer network that the error notification packet may propagate. The first node sends the error notification packet with the hop limit value to the second node and other nodes within the list of interested nodes. After receiving the error notification packet, the second node decrements the hop limit, performs one or more actions, and if the hop limit value is greater than zero, the second node also forwards the error notification packet to each node within its list of interested nodes.
