摘要:
A system and method is provided for electronically managing a cleaning organization and services rendered to clients. According to the present invention, an electronic comment relating to a cleaning area serviced by a cleaning person within the cleaning organization is captured from a client. The electronic comment is stored in a cleaning management database as part of a historical cleaning record. The comment is also sent to a manager of the cleaning organization, and the comment is classified as part of a data group file with similar comments. The comment is communicated to a supervisor responsible for the cleaning area, and then the supervisor provides a notification obtained from the cleaning management database to the cleaning person.

A space efficient lavatory module for commercial aircraft includes an aft facing concave wall recess that provides a greater distance from an upper, forward facing portion of a cabin structure, such as an aircraft passenger seat to avoid having a passenger's head impact the aft facing lavatory or enclosure wall in a sudden aircraft deceleration. The aft facing concave wall recess also provides space for mounting of a protective cushion, in order to reduce a passenger's risk of head trauma in a sudden deceleration, as well as other items, such as a video monitor, a bassinet or infant bed, without inhibiting passenger movement.

An optical waveguide is constructed so as to comprise a non-solid core layer surrounded by a solid-state material, wherein light can be transmitted with low loss through the non-solid core layer, and an electrical component is in fluid communication with the non-solid core layer. The electrical component controls movement of sample material through the non-solid core. The optical wave guide provides light confinement with structured dielectric materials. A presently preferred implementation of the invention employs anti-resonant reflecting optical waveguides (ARROWs or ARROW). Liquid-core waveguides may also be implemented using other dielectric confinement methods where the layers are periodic, such as Bragg mirrors, holey photonic crystal fiber, and omniguides.

A grip for a graspable item having a body and a handle connected to and extending outwardly away from the body. The grip includes a hollow core configured to slide onto the handle, and a hollow sleeve having a plurality of outwardly extending ribs disposed on the external surface of the sleeve. The sleeve is configured to slide onto the exterior of the core such that the core and the sleeve define a cavity therebetween. The grip further includes a quantity of a gel disposed within the cavity. The ends of the sleeve are sealed against the corresponding ends of the core to retain the gel within the cavity, and the gel allows the sleeve to deform to conform to the shape of a user's hand when the handle of the graspable item is grasped by the user.

Fixation-locked measurement of brain activity generates time-coded cues indicative of whether an operator exhibited a significant cognitive response to task-relevant stimuli. The free-viewing environment is one in which the presentation of stimuli is natural to the task encompassing both pre- and post-fixation stimuli and the operator is allowed to move his or her eyes naturally to perform the task.

An optical waveguide is constructed so as to comprise a non-solid core surrounded by a solid-state material. The non-solid core has an index of refraction which is lower than the index of refraction of the surrounding solid state material, and light can be transmitted with a low loss through the non-solid core. The non-solid core can extend through at least one of multiple layers of the solid state material, wherein the non-solid core is elevated on a substrate material above at least one topmost layer of the multiple solid state layers lateral to the non-solid core. In an exemplary application, the non-solid core comprises a sample material whose light transmission, absorption, and/or interference characteristics are to be measured.

An optical waveguide is constructed so as to comprise a non-solid core layer surrounded by a solid-state material. The non-solid core layer has an index of refraction which is lower than the index of refraction of the surrounding solid-state material, and light can be transmitted with low loss through the non-solid core layer. In an exemplary application, the non-solid core layer comprises a sample material whose light transmission, absorption, and/or interference characteristics are to be measured. In addition, a perpendicular waveguide portion may be included for use in injecting light into the core for measuring fluorescence characteristics associated with the sample material. Most preferably, the optical waveguide is generally structured as an anti-resonant reflecting optical waveguide (ARROW), which comprises a Fabry-Perot reflector adjacent to the core layer, whereby light is substantially prevented from leaking out of said core in a transverse direction.
