    摘要: Disclosed are compositions and methods for supplementing ruminant feeds. The compositions generally have an enhanced histidine content, e.g., compositions which include at least one ingredient that has an enhanced content of histidine. The histidine-enriched ingredient is commonly derived from a non-animal source. The methods can include feeding ruminants feed compositions that include the histidine-enriched ingredient to improve milk production. In some embodiments, the feed composition includes an E. coli. biomass derived from fermentation of E. coli, wherein the biomass includes (a) an inhibitor of at least one of the endotoxic effects of lipopolysaccharides of E. coli; and (b) histidine, at least one histidine-rich protein or a mixture thereof.

    摘要: Disclosed are compositions and methods for supplementing ruminant feeds. The compositions include at least one ingredient that has an enhanced content of histidine. The ingredient may be derived from a non-animal source. One suitable animal feed composition includes (a) a histidine-enriched fermentation and/or biomass derived from fermentation of a microbe with enhanced histidine biosynthesis; and (b) at least one other nutrient ingredient. The microbe can includes at least one mutation in the hisG gene or the hisJ gene. The methods include feeding ruminants feed compositions that include the ingredient to improve milk production.

    摘要: The invention provides methods for treating a surface, the method including steps of applying a surface treatment composition to a surface, wherein the surface treatment composition includes a substantially phenol-free cleansing agent and an antimicrobial agent, the antimicrobial agent comprising 9-decenoic acid, a salt of 9-decenoic acid, an ester of 9-decenoic acid, or a combination thereof, wherein the antimicrobial agent is present in an amount sufficient to control microbial growth. Also described are methods for treating a surface that include the step of applying a surface treatment composition having a pH in the range of 4.1 to 8.5 to a surface, wherein the surface treatment composition includes a cleansing agent and an antimicrobial agent, the antimicrobial agent comprising 9-decenoic acid, a salt of 9-decenoic acid, an ester of 9-decenoic acid, or a combination thereof, wherein the antimicrobial agent is present in an amount sufficient to control microbial growth. Also described are surface treatment compositions including the antimicrobial agents.
