摘要: A method and compound for altering the status of both innate and adaptive immune pathways in both animals and humans are disclosed. The status alteration results in the immune response being primed whereby an accelerated and more robust response is generated when the animal or human is challenged by pathogens that lead to a wide range of disease states. The disclosed method utilizes a compound derived from a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of gram-negative bacteria. The compound itself is a natural product with no observed adverse environmental impact. By priming the immune pathways according to the disclosed inventive concept, the severity of various disease states can be reduced, can be resolved more quickly, or can be avoided entirely.

摘要: A dry pet food comprises a core and an external coating that covers at least a part of the core and is composed of one or more layers, including a covering layer on the outside. The core contains: carbohydrates in a concentration of 20-90% by weight of the core, including starch in a concentration of 5-50% by weight of the core; protein in a concentration of 10-50% by weight of the core; fat in a concentration of 0-40% by weight of the core. The covering layer is composed of: 1-80 wt. % dry yeast extract; 0.5-60 wt. % of an edible phosphate salt selected from pyrophosphate, triphosphate and combinations thereof; 0-95 wt. % of other edible components. The dry yeast extract is contained in the covering layer in a concentration of 0.1-10% by weight of the dry pet food in a concentration of 0.1-5% by weight of the dry pet food.

摘要: The present invention relates to a Dunaliella salina OH214 strain having an improved ability to produce pigments, and in particular lutein. As it is possible to produce carotenoid pigments, specifically xanthophylls, with the Dunaliella salina OH214 strain by consuming less energy, it is possible to efficiently produce pigments at an industrial level. In addition, the Dunaliella salina OH214 strain can be applied as a raw material for foods, health functional foods, and pharmaceuticals, containing pigments. Moreover, the Dunaliella salina OH214 strain is a domestic native microalga in Korea and thus does not cause any GMO issues, it is possible to reduce costs by using seawater as a culture medium in Korea, and the effect of related industrial development can be expected.
