    摘要: A machine for testing and comparing chains and sprokets of various geometries and materials comprising four sprockets and two chains and having a pneumatic cylinder for loading one chain against another. A motor which drives a rotatable fixed shaft which is mounted in two pillow block bearings. This shaft contains two sprockets. A second rotatable shaft is journalized in two pillow blocks mounted on a movable platform. Means are provided for applying a predetermined load through the movable platform to the second shaft and means are also provided for measuring the total cycle to chain-sprocket system failure. Means are also provided for determining chain load, for measuring chain and sprocket temperatures, for lubrication of the chains and sprockets, for cooling the test chamber, and for automatic machine shut off at failure.

    摘要: An eccentric differential screw usable for torque multiplying, speed changing, positioning and actuating functions is disclosed. The disclosed device produces output between fixed output member positions.A rotatable shaft having threaded portions, constrained axially, acting as a screw, is threadably engaged by fine threads to a floating nut-screw acting as a nut. The same floating nut-screw acting as a screw axially eccentric with respect to the axis of the said fine threads is threadably engaged by coarse threads to a rotatable nut. The unique motions of the parts and the self-locking behavior of the device being made achievable by the eccentricity of the axes of the said fine and coarse threads. The speed ratio of the device is dependent on the ratio of the leads of the fine and coarse threads.

    摘要: The single pole hunting stand is supported on one leg and is stabilized using guy wires. The guy wires can be attached to stakes which are placed in the ground or attached to surrounding objects such as rocks, trees, or roots. The single pole configuration allows erection on any terrain with or without attaching to trees. The single pole hunting stand allows unobstructed 360 degree field of view and provides complete rotational freedom of movement with a swivel seat that is attached to the top of the pole. The swivel seat with back rest may be elevated to the desired height by changing the length of the pole.The pole is equipped with steps which allows for easy and quiet access and egress to the swivel chair without having to adjust or move the stand. The single pole device does not attach directly to a single tree or require climbing a tree for access or egress, thus no environmental damage results. The single pole supports the hunter's weight without imposing the total hunter load on a tree.The single pole may be collapsed or disassembled to create a shorter length; the swivel chair detached, and the guy wires coiled to allow compact packaging and shipment, assembly, easy movement and storage.

    摘要: A sprocket and a roller chain drive system including same are disclosed. The sprocket is a random engagement sprocket comprising a first plurality of A-profile teeth formed with a first asymmetric profile and a second plurality of B-profile teeth formed with a second asymmetric profile. The A-profile teeth each define a first pressure angle and the B-profile teeth each define a second pressure angle that is at least 5 degrees greater than said first pressure angle so that a minimum separation Δ is defined. The sprocket is defined with added chordal pitch reduction of 0.2% up to 1% relative to the link pitch of the associated roller chain. The sprocket can be defined with root relief and/or can comprise resilient cushion rings. Initial roller contacts made with the A-profile and B-profile teeth are modulated owing to the pressure angle separation and added chordal pitch reduction.

A normal force transducer which is designed like a curved beam and the tangential force transducer which is designed like a cantilever with head are used as contact pulleys. The transducer pulley is used as either a driving pulley or a driven pulley. Each pulley is mounted on a carriage plate which slides with linear bearings. Means are provided for applying a predetermined belt initial tension through the sliding carriage plate and means are also provided for applying torque load through a torque disk.

    摘要: A golf club for impelling a golf ball further with thrust force assist. Pressurized fluid from a fluid pump enters the club through the handle assembly and exits out through a fluid nozzle at the back of the club head. The club thus prepared is swung in the normal way. Due to the added thrust force, the club head velocity is greater than it would be without any assist, causing the ball to be impelled further down the fairway and/or teaching the golfer to swing faster. The club further includes a triggering mechanism to control the flow of fluid into the club.

    摘要: A machine is presented for measuring normal and tangential belt forces as well as the grinding friction force all versus the angular position for abrasive belt grinding. Normal and tangential force transducers, having the same surface shape and surface finish as the contact pulley, are assembled in the contact pulley. The instrumented contact pulley is used as a driving or driven pulley. A variable speed D.C. motor rotates the driving pulley. A cylindrical workpiece is driven by a variable speed A.C. motor through a torque sensor. The torque sensor determines the grinding friction force between the workpiece and the belt. The A.C. motor-torque sensor assembly is mounted on a carriage plate which slides on two rails with linear bearings. Means are provided for applying a predetermined belt tension and means are also provided for applying a workpiece grinding normal force.

    摘要: An abrasive wear tester wherein a segment of a relatively small diameter O-ring is held in contact with a rotating cylindrical disk. The disk is mounted to rotate about its longitudinal axes at a known rate for a specified period of time. The O-ring segment and cylinder are immersed in an abrasive fluid. The abrasive particles are pulled between the wear surfaces causing removal of the surface materials, predominantly the softer O-ring material. The O-ring specimen is cut from an O-ring and weighed prior to test. After the test the O-ring segment is again weighed and the weight of material removed by wear is calculated. These measurements indicate the wear resistance of the O-ring being tested. Service loads or pressures are simulated by means of a cable and weight system urging the O-ring against the cylindrical wear disk surface by means of a lever arm pulley arrangement or similar loading device.
