摘要: The invention relates to a method and a means for automatically post-editing a translated text. A source language text is translated into an initial target language text. This initial target language text is then post-edited by an automatic post-editor into an improved target language text. The automatic post-editor is trained on a sentence aligned parallel corpus created from sentence pairs T′ and T, where T′ is an initial training translation of a source training language text, and T is second, independently derived, training translation of a source training language text.

摘要: Electronic content is filtered to identify spam using image and linguistic processing. A plurality of information type gatherers assimilate and output different message attributes relating to message content associated with an information type. A categorizer may have a plurality of decision makers for providing as output a message class for classifying the message data. A history processor records the message attributes and the class decision as part of the prior history information and/or modifies the prior history information to reflect changes to fixed data and/or probability data. A categorizer coalescer assesses the message class output by the set of decision makers together with optional user input for producing a class decision identifying whether the message data is spam.

摘要: A system detects and decodes semantic camouflage in natural language messages. The system is adapted to identify entities such as words or phrases in overt messages that are being used to disguise different and unrelated entities or concepts. The system automatically determines the semantic plausibility of the overt message and identifies entities that appear in implausible contexts. In addition, the system automatically estimates covert meanings for the entities identified in the overt message that appear in implausible contexts.

摘要: A writing advisor program (20) receives a proposed text in an author's second language (L2) and determines at least one candidate replacement word for a selected word based on a determined language model (p(c)) and a determined corruption model (p(r|c)). The determined language model reflects correct usage of the text in the second language, independent of the native or first language (L1) of the author, based on (L2) corpora. The determined corruption model is based on some a priori knowledge about probable corruption paths leading the author to realize some inadequate expression in the second language instead of the correct, intended expression. Different types of corruption paths may be used that include bidirectional translations, false-friends, synonyms, common semantic features, second language internal cognates, preposition alternatives, and first language inserts.

摘要: A new ultrasonic transmission imaging apparatus is disclosed, which uses a new imaging method providing image focusing capability. The apparatus comprises an ultrasonic emitter producing substantially continuous coherent ultrasonic waves toward an object to be inspected. The apparatus further comprises an ultrasonic detectors array comprising a plurality of ultrasonic detectors receiving the object traversing ultrasonic waves to produce a plurality of series of electrical signals coming from the ultrasonic detectors, the electrical signals characterizing transmission of the ultrasonic waves through the object and being associated with series of image elements. The apparatus further comprises a signal vector components detector detecting signal vector components for each of the electrical signals. The apparatus further comprises a computer for controlling the apparatus and for receiving pairs of first and second signal vector component digital signals coming from the signal vector components detector. The computer has a memory for storing the pairs of first and second signal vector component digital signals and for storing focusing function data, which is used by the computer to produce corresponding pairs of first and second resulting signal vector component digital signals forming a focused digital image representation of the object traversing ultrasonic waves.

摘要: An adjustable support mechanism for supporting a treatment device, and namely, a percussion generating tool having a treatment head and which is utilized by a patient to apply vibrations and percussion treatment to a predetermined area of his body. The support mechanism comprises an extendable boom which is pivotally secured at an attachment end to an adjustable pivoting housing which is securable to a stationary object. The pivoting housing permits vertical and horizontal angular displacement of the boom, and has an adjustable pressure biasing mechanism which acts on the boom to displace same vertically on a pivot connection to thereby apply a vertical moment on the load secured to the free end of the boom. An articulated connecting joint interconnects the treatment device to the free end of the boom. The connecting joint has a disconnectible brake to position the treatment device at a desired angle relative to the free end of the boom. A handle is provided to position the treatment head to the desired position. A lever is integrated with the handle to disconnect and reconnect the brake to adjust the angular position of the treatment device relative to the boom free end.
