    摘要: A lamp for a vehicle is provided with a projection lens, a light source, a reflector having a reflecting surface, which reflects a light from the light source toward the projection lens; a body of a vessel shape; a cover forming a lamp chamber together with the body; and an auxiliary lens. The auxiliary lens diffuses an incident light in a horizontal direction and is provided at least on one side of the projection lens in the vehicle width direction. A horizontal section of the cover is tilted in with respect to a phantom line that extends in a vehicle width direction, and the auxiliary lens is formed such that a thickness thereof becomes gradually thin in an outward direction from the projection lens, and that an outermost surface thereof in the horizontal section is parallel to the cover.

The cover 23 has a horizontal cross-section that is slanted with respect to an imaginary line 25 in the transverse direction of the vehicle, and the projection lens 33 has a rear side focal point f, the thickness of the lens 33 decreasing from the center portion toward the outer peripheral portions, and on the outer peripheral portions, a vehicular inside edge portion projects more toward the front side of the vehicle than the vehicular outside edge portion.

A semiconductor light-emitting element is mounted on a mounting surface so that its irradiation axis intersects with lamp unit's optical axis. Reflector's reflective surface reflects light from the semiconductor light-emitting element toward a vehicle front. One end of the reflective surface is located on a vehicle rear side of the light-emitting element. The other end protrudes toward a vehicle front from a front side end of the mounting portion. The reflective surface has a portion protruding toward the vehicle front from the front side end to face the slanted portion. Within a light distribution pattern, rays of light reflected by first area, second area adjacent to the first area and third area on the reflective surface respectively form a horizontal cut-off line, an oblique cut-off line and a diffusion portion.

A mirror member is provided between the reflector and the projection lens. The mirror member includes an upward reflecting surface that upward reflects a portion of the reflected light from the reflector, and a front end edge formed so as to pass through the rear focal point of the projection lens. A region of the upward reflecting surface located nearer a self-lane side than the optical axis is constituted with a horizontal plane including the optical axis. A shielding projection that shields the reflected light from the reflector deflected by the horizontal plane is formed in a position of the horizontal plane that is apart from the front end edge of the upward reflecting surface to a rear side.

The lamp unit includes a light emitting element disposed on an optical axis so as to face in a direction substantially orthogonal to the optical axis, a first reflector facing the light emitting element to forwardly reflect light from the light emitting element, and a direct light control member disposed in front of the light emitting element for controlling direct light directed toward a region in front of the first reflector from the light emitting element without being incident on the first reflector. The direct light control member includes a first lens portion which deflects a first portion of the direct light in a direction approaching the optical axis, and an extended portion extending from the first lens portion. The extended portion controls a second portion of the direct light differently from the first lens portion.
