Abstract: Examples are disclosed herein that relate to displaying modification regions on a multi-display device. One example provides a multi-display device comprising a plurality of displays, the multi-display device storing line offset data defining a line offset to apply to a displayed image to correct for display misalignment, and modification region data defining one or more modification regions that each modifies an appearance of the displayed image. The multi-display device is configured to set a displayed location of a first active area based upon the line offset data for a first display, and set a displayed location of a first modification region for the first display based upon the line offset data for the first display.

Abstract: The description relates to display devices. One example can include a display having an active area surrounded by an inactive deadband. The example can also include a chassis, the display received in the chassis and secured to the chassis beneath the inactive deadband with adhesive. The example can further include a fastening assembly positioned below the inactive deadband and farther beneath the plane than the adhesive, where the fastening assembly creates a retention force between the display and the chassis.

Abstract: A method that enables an adaptive low power display device is described herein. The method includes determining a blocked area of a panel display, wherein the panel display is to render one or more images and deriving a segmented area of the display based on the blocked area of the display. The method also includes adjusting a segment of a backlight of the panel display that is proximate to the blocked area of the panel display according to a sparse array configuration, wherein the backlight is non-uniform in emitting light.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a backlight unit and a liquid crystal layer disposed proximate to the backlight unit. The backlight unit is configured to provide illumination across a viewable display area of the electronic device. The viewable display area includes a plurality of zones. The liquid crystal layer is configured to selectively filter the illumination provided by the backlight unit. A processor is coupled to the backlight unit and to the liquid crystal layer. The processor is configured to determine, based on data indicative of content to be displayed, a respective backlight brightness level of each zone of the plurality of zones and to generate liquid crystal control signaling for the liquid crystal layer. The processor is further configured to adjust the respective backlight brightness levels and/or the liquid crystal control signaling, to compensate for distortions arising from defects in the backlight unit and/or the liquid crystal layer.
