    摘要: The present invention relates to orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) communication systems with multiple transmit antennas receive antennas, and in particular to methods for inserting scattered pilots (SPs) into the transmit signals of such OFDM systems, for estimating channel properties on the basis of the scattered pilots, a multi-antenna OFDM transmitter, and an OFDM receiver. In this context, it is the particular approach of the present invention to keep the same SP pattern like in the single-transmitter case, to partition the pilots into as many subsets as there are transmitters (transmit antennas), and to interleave these subsets both in time and in frequency. In this manner, the granularity of pilots of the same subset is reduced. This offers increased flexibility in designing the scattered pilot patterns and greater accuracy of the estimated channel properties.

    摘要: The present invention relates to digital data communication and provides an efficient method for generating multi-dimensional constellations for digital data modulation with a high degree of modulation diversity, a method for transmitting and receiving data on the basis of such constellations, and a corresponding apparatus. This is achieved by considering only multi-dimensional rotation matrices with all elements on the diagonal having the same first absolute value and all other elements having the same non-zero second absolute value. In this manner, multi-dimensional rotation matrices can be generated having only a single independent parameter and a structure that is as regular as possible. The independent parameter can be configured in order to minimize the error probability for various constellation sizes.

    摘要: The present invention relates to digital data communication and provides an efficient method for generating multi-dimensional constellations for digital data modulation with a high degree of modulation diversity, a method for transmitting and receiving data on the basis of such constellations, and a corresponding apparatus.     摘要: The present invention relates to a physical layer signalling in a digital broadcast network. In particular, for a digital broadcast network supporting a configuration with a plurality of physical layer pipes, a type indicator is signalled on physical layer for a pipe, the type indicator indicates the format of the input stream which may specify a transport stream, a generic stream or an IP stream. In addition, per physical layer pipe application of header and/or content compression to the user packet headers of the input stream is signalled. Another physical layer parameters are advantageously provided or extended in order to increase the flexibility and efficiency of the layer 1 signalling.

    摘要: The present invention relates to transmission and reception of digital broadcast in a digital broadcast network supporting a configuration of multiple physical layer pipes (PLPs). In particular, signalling parameters relating to a complete PLP are transmitted within layer 1 signalling related to the PLP. The baseband frames mapped on the pipe are configured according to this layer 1 signalling in the same way at the transmitter as they are demapped on the receiver side. The baseband frames are transmitted and received without including these parameters, in particular, at least one of parameters indicating (i) an input stream format, (ii) a single or a multiple input stream, (iii) constant or adaptive coding and modulation, (iv) presence of input stream synchronization, (v) presence of null packet deletion, or (vi) input stream identifier.
