摘要: A liquid crystal panel (20) provided in a liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes a plurality of optical sensor elements (30) each for detecting an intensity of light received, and has an area sensor function to detect an external input position by causing each of the optical sensor elements (30) to detect an image on the panel surface. The liquid crystal panel (20) includes the optical sensor elements (30) constituting an area sensor and a temperature compensating sensor (50) for carrying out temperature compensation of each of these optical sensor elements (30). The temperature compensating sensor (50) includes a lower-layer light blocking film, optical sensor elements (30A) each for detecting a temperature of an environment where the liquid crystal display device is placed which optical sensor elements (30A) are provided on the lower-layer light blocking film, and an upper-layer light blocking film which is provided so as to cover the optical sensor elements for detecting a temperature which upper-layer light blocking film blocks ultraviolet light, visible light, and infrared light. This makes it possible to attain a liquid crystal display device including an area sensor that does not receive an influence of a temperature of an environment where the liquid crystal display device is used and accordingly has a high detection precision.

摘要: A liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes a liquid crystal panel (20) having an area sensor function of detecting the position of an input from an outside source by detecting an image on a panel surface. The liquid crystal panel (20) has a plurality of light sensor elements (30) that detect the intensity of received light. The liquid crystal panel (20) is provided with: a light intensity sensor section (50), constituted by those ones of the light sensor elements (30) which are disposed in an outermost peripheral part of a display region (20a) of the liquid crystal panel (20), which detects the intensity of light in an environment where the device is placed; and visible light sensors (31A) and infrared light sensors (31B), constituted by those ones of the light sensor elements (30) other than those constituting the light intensity sensor section (50), which detect the position of an input from an outside source by the light sensor elements detecting an image on the panel surface. This allows some of the light sensor elements to be used as a light intensity sensor to more accurately measure light intensity.

摘要: A scanning order calculating portion (23) included in a display control circuit (200) determines the order of selecting all rows by repeating the following: the row for which the total amount of potential variation relative to a reference row is the lowest is selected as a subsequent row, and the row having been selected as the subsequent row is used as the next reference row in a similar operation to determine the next row to be set as a subsequent row. A scanning order setting portion (24) controls an address outputting portion (26) such that the scanning signal lines are selected in the determined order, and also controls digital image signals DV outputted by output frame memory (22). Power consumed by driving video signal lines can be reduced by selecting the scanning signal lines in such an order that the total amount of potential variation of the video signal lines becomes smaller.
