摘要： A disclosed fixing device fixes resin particles onto a medium by applying a fixer including a softening agent onto the resin particles resting on the medium. The softening agent softens the resin particles by dissolving or causing swelling of at least part of resin included in the resin particles. A foamed fixer is generated from the fixer. The foamed fixer whose layer thickness is controlled is applied onto the resin particles resting on the medium.

摘要： A fixing apparatus causes a softener to adhere to a toner image and then fixes the toner image onto a recording body. The toner image is formed using a liquid developer comprising a toner and carrier solution. The fixing apparatus comprises a fixing roller as a softener feeding device for feeding a fixer containing a softener to a transfer paper which is a recording body, and a pressurizing roller as a pressurizing device for pressurizing the transfer paper at a fixing nip which is a softener feeding position to which the fixer is fed. As the softener contained in the fixer, the one having an affinity for the carrier solution is used.

摘要： A developing device for developing a latent image formed on an image carrier with a developing liquid includes a liquid storing section for storing the liquid consisting of a developing substance and a carrier liquid. A developer carrier deposits the liquid fed from the liquid storing section thereon. A float type liquid level sensor senses a liquid level in the liquid storing section. The liquid level sensor includes a magnetic force generating member for generating a magnetic force, a magnetic force sensing device for sensing the magnetic force, and floats movable up and down in accordance with the liquid level in the liquid storing section. A distance between the magnetic force generating member and the magnetic force sensing device varies in accordance with the movement of the floats, allowing the liquid level to be determined on the basis of the output of the magnetic force sensing device. An image forming apparatus including the developing device is also disclosed.
