    摘要: A retractable headlamp assembly for automobiles in which a headlamp, pivotally mounted on the automobile frame, is operatively coupled to the rotatable shaft of a motor by a link mechanism. The motor, operating through the link mechanism, is energizable to cause the headlamp to be moved angularly between a first position at which the headlamp projects out of the front hood of the automobile, and a second position at which the headlamp is retracted within the front hood. An adjustable stop is provided to stop the headlamp at the first position, which adjustable stop is adjusted to bring the first position into conformity with an angularly displaced position of the rotatable motor shaft, which is displaced through a slip angle from a normal stopping position. Such an arrangement assures that the headlamp can be stopped at a fixed position at all times for emitting a correctly directed beam of light irrespective of the varying positions at which the motor can stop.

In the retracted position, the lens surface of the head lamp assembly is located along the body surface. The pivot axis is inclined downwardly and rearwardly with respect to a horizontal transverse line as seen in transverse outward direction of the body so that the lens surface is substantially flush with the body surface in the retracted position.

    摘要: This invention relates to a vehicle window structure. The vehicle window structure includes a window glass, a body member, a window molding, a retainer for the window molding, a seal member secured to body member and another seal member between the window glass and the seal member. The window molding is in contact with the window glass and the body member. The window molding is fixed on the retainer which supports the seal member. The another seal member is secured to an inner surface along an outer peripheral edge of the window glass. Accordingly, the window glass, a sealing assembly including the window molding, retainer and seal member and the another seal member which is secured to the window glass are united before the window glass is fixed on the vehicle body. Further, the another seal member forms a continuous sealing ring along the outer peripheral edge of the window glass to provide more secured sealing effect. Thus, the window glass, the another seal member and its sealing assembly can be attached to the body member in a simple one-step operation.

    摘要: The present door for a motor vehicle includes a door glass, a door glass piece and a guide groove. The door glass piece has a substantially crank shape and a forward end sliding portion offset into the vehicle and secured to an end portion of the door glass, the sliding portion of the door glass piece being slidably guided by the guide groove on a door frame aligned to enable opening and closing of the door glass, while the outer surfaces of the door glass and the door frame are substantially flush with each other. According to the present invention the sliding portion of the door glass piece and the door glass are formed such that an angle formed by a center line of the sliding portion and the outer surface of the door glass is less than 180.degree., the outer surface of the vehicle being curved and the door glass conforming to the curvature of the outer surface of a vehicle body, which is continuously formed by the outer surfaces of the door glass and the door frame.

    摘要: This invention relates to a vehicle window structure. The vehicle window structure includes a window glass, a body member, a window molding, a retainer for the window molding and a seal member between the window glass and body member. The window molding is in contact with the window glass and the body member. The window molding is fixed on the retainer which supports the seal member. Accordingly, the window molding, retainer and seal member are united to form a sealing assembly which is secured to the window glass before the window glass is fixed on the vehicle body. Further, the retainer has an engagement portion which can engage with the body member. Thus, the window glass and its sealing assembly can be attached to the body member in a simple one-step operation.

    摘要: A vehicle door comprising a door section having a door panel and a window frame, wherein the door panel includes an inner housing extending between an exterior and an interior of the vehicle. A door glass is slidably mounted between the window frame and the inner housing. The door glass has an arcuate configuration when viewed in cross section in the direction of the length of the vehicle and defines a projected normal arc of curvature corresponding to the arcuate configuration of the door glass when the door glass is in a closed position. The projected normal arc of curvature extends downward from a closed position of the door glass. A guide channel is provided for guiding the door between the closed position and an open position. The guide channel defines an actual arc of curvature when viewed in cross section in the direction of the length of the vehicle, which is displaced radially inwardly from the normal arc of curvature. Therefore, the door glass is slidably positioned to be closer to the interior of the vehicle when slid to an open position along the guide channel than if it were slid along the projected normal arc of curvature.

Forward and rearward guide channels are secured to the door panel and extend within the inner housing and the window section of the door. Guide members connected to a door glass ride within the forward and rearward channels and include attachment members secured to the door glass for positioning the door glass in response to movement of the guide members within the forward and rearward channels. Forward and rearward brackets are attached to the window frame and include weather seals extending between the bracket and the door glass. A housing supporting a mirror is mounted on the vehicle door and extends along the forward bracket. The housing is mounted so that the forward guide channels are positioned between the forward bracket and the mirror, in order to prevent an obstructed view of the mirror by a vehicle occupant.
