Abstract: A surface mount inductor includes a coil buried in a composite material including a magnetic powder; outer terminals connected to the coil; and a molded body having a metal surface that intersects a winding axis of the coil and including the composite material. A surface mount inductor manufacturing method includes arranging, inside a mold, a metal plate having a shape covering part of a surface of a molded body; arranging a coil and a composite material including a magnetic powder or a preliminary molded body composed of the composite material inside the mold in which the metal plate has been arranged; and forming a molded body in which the coil is buried and that has the metal plate arranged on part of a surface of the molded body by molding the metal plate, the composite material, and the coil inside the mold to be integrated with each other.

Abstract: The electric circuit includes a first inductor and a third inductor that, when viewed in plan view from a first direction, wind around a first axis extending in the first direction, and a second inductor that, when viewed in plan view from the first direction, winds around a second axis extending in the first direction. A second region where the second inductor is provided overlaps, in the first direction, with a first region where the first inductor is provided or a third region where the third inductor is provided. When a common mode signal is inputted to the first inductor to third inductor, the orientation of a magnetic field produced in the first axis by the first inductor and the third inductor is opposite from the orientation of a magnetic field produced in the second axis by the second inductor.

Abstract: A surface mount inductor includes a coil including a wound portion and a feeder end portion drawn out from the wound portion, a compact that contains a magnetic powder and that encapsulates the coil, and an external terminal disposed on the compact and connected to the coil. The compact has surfaces including two pressed surfaces, opposing each other in a direction of an axis of the wound portion and formed by being pressed in the direction of the axis, and a non-pressed surface, adjacent to the two surfaces and not pressed. The coil is disposed so that the axis of the wound portion is parallel to a mount surface of the compact. The mount surface is included in the non-pressed surface, the feeder end portion is exposed from the mount surface, and the external terminal is formed on only the non-pressed surface and connected to the feeder end portion.

Abstract: In an inductor component, fallen-off-filler marks that are formed as a result of a filler falling off from an outer surface of a component body are present in a dotted manner in portions of the outer surface that are in contact with outer electrodes. As a result of the filler falling off, a joining area at interfaces between the component body and the outer electrodes increases, and stress generated at the interfaces between the component body and the outer electrodes is reduced.

A direction perpendicular to the adhesion surface is set to a thickness direction. A direction perpendicular to the thickness direction in the specific cross section is set to an extending direction. The adhesive includes a resin portion in the specific cross section. The resin portion is a portion which does not contain the magnetic powder in the thickness direction in a range between the drum core and the top plate and which is continuously disposed by 3 μm or larger in the extending direction.
