    摘要： A method and apparatus for setting a language in a television receiver enable one language setting operation performed in a first menu, corresponding to one of a plurality of language-specific functions, to automatically set a preferred language for one or more other functions. The method includes steps of setting a language in a first menu according to a user selection, the first menu corresponding to one function of a plurality of language-specific functions; and automatically setting a language of at least one other function of the plurality of language-specific functions to the language set according to the user selection, the language of the at least one other function being set interoperably with the first menu. Thus, if at least one language is selected in the first menu, a language of at least one other function is set to the first-menu language. Upon powering a television receiver receiving a transport stream from a broadcasting station, a tuner tunes a broadcast signal of a corresponding channel, whereupon additional information is parsed from the tuned transport stream to extract information of every language being provided. The extracted information is then stored in memory so that, according to a user selection of a first menu for performing a language setting operation, the stored language information can be simultaneously output as an audio signal and displayed on a screen to enable user recognition.

The image signal processing apparatus includes a signal decoder, an image signal processor, a display, a controller, a memory, and a power interface. The signal decoder decodes input signals, and the image signal processor processes signals decoded by the signal decoder so that they are outputable. The display outputs the signals processed by the image signal processor, and the controller allows a list of modules recognized by the connector to be displayed, and controls driving of the module selected by a user. The memory stores a program transmitted from the selected module, and the power interface supplies power to the module.

The method includes steps of receiving a control signal from a terminal via a network, the control signal including a request signal identifying a specific video program; processing, in response to the received control signal, the specific video program according to characteristic information of the terminal; and transmitting the processed video program to the terminal via the network. The characteristic information for the terminal may or may not be included in the control signal, since a system controller of the receiver may access a user information storage unit to retrieve terminal characteristic information indicating the appropriate format conversion for the terminal.

    摘要： A method of sorting broadcast channels and a display device using the same enables a sorted broadcast channel search list to be edited for use in channel searching. The method includes steps of receiving a broadcast signal including broadcast station information corresponding to a plurality of broadcast channels; detecting broadcast station information for each broadcast channel; searching, with reference to a lookup table, for a priority of each broadcast channel corresponding to the detected broadcast station information; generating a user interface device including a broadcast channel search list arranged in the lookup table in accordance with the searched priority, the user interface device receiving from a user an editing command corresponding to at least one broadcast channel of the broadcast channel search list; editing the broadcast channel search list according to the received editing command; sorting the plurality of broadcast channels based on the edited broadcast channel search list; and storing the sorted broadcast channel search list in correspondence to the detected broadcast station information.

The first layer has a larger refractivity than an air layer, and the second layer has a larger refractivity than the first layer. The refractive pattern is disposed at a boundary surface between the first layer and the second layer and has ridges and furrows that change a traveling path of light. The optical sheet refracts light at least three times to condense the light in a direction perpendicular to a light-exiting surface.
