Abstract: A resilient nonmetallic printer hammer made of composite material and having relatively large size and small mass is disclosed. The hammer employs a frontal insert member for printing contact and a rearward insert for energy dissipation and driving. An attached spring assists in hammer retraction and in frictional dissipation against a mating member at the rearward face.
