    Abstract: A purpose of the present invention is to provide a lithium ion secondary battery which has further improved life characteristics. The lithium ion secondary battery of the present invention is characterized by comprising a positive electrode comprising a positive electrode active material that operates at 4.5 V or more with respect to lithium, and an electrolyte solution comprising an electrolyte solvent comprising a fluorinated ether, a cyclic sulfonic acid ester and LiN(FSO2)2.

    Abstract: A lithium ion secondary battery having high energy density and being excellent in cycle characteristics is provided. The present invention relates to a lithium ion secondary battery comprising: a negative electrode active material comprising a material comprising silicon as a constituent element; and an electrolyte solution comprising: a non-aqueous solvent comprising a fluorinated ether compound, an open-chain sulfone compound, and a cyclic carbonate compound, and a supporting salt comprising LiPF6, lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide, and lithium bis(oxalato)borate (LiBOB); wherein the content of LiBOB in the electrolyte solution is 0.2 mass % or more.

    Abstract: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a secondary cell in which a decrease in energy density is inhibited. In order to achieve this purpose, this secondary cell has a positive electrode in which a positive electrode active material layer is provided on a positive electrode collector, and a negative electrode in which a negative electrode active material layer is provided on a negative electrode collector; the positive electrode active material layer and the negative electrode active material layer are laminated so as to face each other with a separator interposed therebetween; the negative electrode active material layer has a greater area than the positive electrode active material layer; and a thin section is provided in at least a part of the negative electrode active material layer at a location where the negative electrode active material layer does not face the positive electrode active material layer.
