Abstract:
The present invention addresses method, apparatus and computer program product for resource management within a distributed system in a core network element, comprising organizing computing resources of the core network element into sets, wherein a first set is always active, setting an upper threshold and a lower threshold for the load of the sets, wherein the sets in operation are loaded as long as the average load of the sets in operation reaches the upper threshold, and when the upper threshold is exceeded, a new set is activated, whereas, when the load thereof falls below the lower threshold, the last activated set is deactivated, assigning a priority number to each set, segmenting an interval of random numbers for randomizing a request distribution in subintervals which are allocated to the computing resources of the active sets, wherein the length of each subinterval is determined based on the priority number of the set of the respective computing resource, and allotting a random number out of the interval to an incoming request, and forwarding the request to such computing resource which belongs to the subinterval that contains the allotted random number.
Abstract:
In a mobile communication networks system supporting IP Multimedia Subsystem, IMS, centralized services, there are provided measures for enabling/realizing an overlay implementation of a IMS centralized service network system taking into account a pool of network entities with different IMS centralized services capabilities. Such measures based on a IMS centralized-services applicability for a terminal requesting attachment and an IMS centralized-services capability of at least one switching entity out of a pool of switching entities which are configured to control radio resources for a same radio network area. In case of a mismatch between the IMS centralized-services applicability for the terminal and the IMS centralized-services capability of the switching entity the attachment request can be redirected to another switching entity out of said pool, which has a matching IMS centralized-services capability. Also, when receiving an attach request, a switching entity can be selected out of said pool, which has a matching centralized-services capability, and the requested attachment can be directed to the selected switching entity.
Abstract:
There are provided measures for enabling/realizing service continuity in a centralized service network system. Such measures exemplarily comprise detecting a deregistration request for deregistering a terminal with respect to a first switching entity from a registration in which the first switching entity is registered for the terminal as a contact point for centralized services, starting a waiting timer for waiting for a registration request for registering the terminal with respect to a second switching entity upon detection of said deregistration request, and re-registering the terminal in the registration such that the second switching entity is registered for the terminal as a contact point for centralized services upon detection of the registration request for registering the terminal with respect to the second switching entity before expiry of the waiting timer.
Abstract:
Various devices may benefit from simultaneous call session side registrations for voice over long term evolution in a visited network. A method can include receiving a request for a roaming number request at a first enhanced network node, wherein the request comprises a first identifier of a user equipment. The method can also include interrogating a first network node to determine address information of a second enhanced network node associated with the user equipment and relaying the request for the roaming number to the second enhanced network node using the address information. The method can also include receiving the request for the roaming number at the second enhanced network node and allocating a roaming number associated with the first identifier of the user equipment. The method can further include returning the roaming number to the first enhanced network node and providing the roaming number to a second network node.
