Various communication systems may benefit from an accurate detection method. The method may include determining correlation values between a first sequence of samples and at least one pre-defined sequence, detecting whether at least one first peak exists by comparing the correlation values with at least one first detection threshold. If the at least one first peak exists, the method may further include performing summing of at least a subset of the correlation values and detecting whether at least one second peak exists by comparing the summed correlation values with a second detection threshold.

Configuration of various radio systems may have a number of possible benefits. For example, small cell configuration may be useful for interference mitigation. A method, in certain embodiments, can include determining a virtual subframe index for a cell. The method can also include communicating the virtual subframe index for the cell by communicating a time division duplex configuration and a relative subframe offset.

A method and apparatus for a transmission mode with user equipment (UE) independent physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) scrambling for inter-cell and intra-cell PDSCH-to-PDSCH interference cancellation. A method may include configuring (610) a first identifier (e.g. first RNTI) for a first UE. The method may also include performing at least one of indicating (620) (e.g. semi-statically) a second identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTI own) for the first UE, or indicating (630) (e.g. semi-statically) a third identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTIJnt) for the first UE. The first identifier (e.g. first RNTI) is for at least one of operation of physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) of the first UE, or operation of PDSCH of the first UE if the second identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTI own) is not indicated to the first UE; the second identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTI own) is for at least one of scrambling or descrambling PDSCH of the first UE; and the third identifier (e.g. PDSCH RNTIJnt) is for at least one of scrambling or descrambling a PDSCH of a second (e.g. interfering) UE. The transmission of the second UE may cause interference on the reception of a PDSCH at the first UE.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for efficient signaling in a system supporting D2D over the air discovery are provided. One method may include receiving at a user equipment an indication of screening policies and related parameters for beacon signals received from other devices. The method may then include detecting the beacon signals and applying the screening policies and related parameters to determine which of the detected beacon signals should be included in a report. The method may also include leaving out from the report any of the detected beacon signals that do not meet the screening policies' requirements and/or criteria, and transmitting the report from the user equipment to a network node.
