Abstract: A radio network sends downlink signaling to a user equipment (UE) that triggers an enhanced uplink beam selection protocol, based on quality of the UE's uplink signaling the network receives according to a basic uplink beam selection protocol. In response the UE transmits pre-defined signaling such as uplink beam references signals (U-BRS) with uplink beams according to the downlink signaling. The network measures and selects one or more of those uplink beams for the UE to use for sending uplink data, and notifies this selection to the UE. In various embodiments the basic uplink beam selection protocol is based on uplink-downlink reciprocity, the downlink triggering signaling is dynamic and further selects a subset of uplink beams, and multiple UEs can be triggered in common signaling where blind decoding by the UEs is enabled via a scrambling ID for this enhanced uplink beam selection protocol purpose.

Abstract: A first method comprises sending to at least one user equipment a signal, the signal including hopping parameters and being related to sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission, wherein at least one subset/SRS resource is sent for at least one numerology/beam pair, and wherein independent hopping is carried out in each subset for one specific numerology/beam pair or, when different SRS resources are configured for different numerologies/beams, the subset is defined for each SRS resource and independent hopping is made for each SRS resource; and receiving an SRS transmission from the at least one user equipment in accordance with the signal. A second method comprises receiving a signal from a gNB, the signal including hopping parameters and being related to sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission, wherein at least one subset/SRS resource is sent for at least one numerology/beam pair, and wherein independent hopping is carried out in each subset for one specific numerology/beam pair or, when different SRS resources are configured for different numerologies/beams, the subset is defined for each SRS resource and independent hopping is made for each SRS resource; and sending an SRS transmission to the gNB in accordance with the signal.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from improved transmissions. For example, a network transmission may benefit from improved throughput and efficiency in non-schedule multiple access communications. A method includes selecting at a user equipment operating in a non-scheduled access scheme at least one of a first codeword or a second codeword based on an amount of data. The data in the non-scheduled access scheme can be spread according to a spreading sequence. The method also includes determining a transport block size for at least one of the first codeword or the second codeword. In addition, the method includes transmitting the data from the user equipment to a network node using at least one of the first codeword or the second codeword.

Abstract: According to an aspect, a method comprises detecting a need to change a duplex mode in a first network node from half duplex to full duplex, determining relevant neighboring network nodes of the first network node, determining duplex pairing information of the first network node, wherein the duplex pairing information of the first network node comprises duplex information of the relevant neighboring network nodes, the duplex information comprising at least information on a current duplex mode of a corresponding neighboring network node, using the duplex pairing information to determine duplex modes of the relevant neighboring network nodes, if all the relevant neighboring network nodes operate in half duplex mode, causing changing the duplex mode of the first net-work node to full duplex; and in response to the causing changing the duplex mode, causing updating information on a current duplex mode of the first net-work node.
