    Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for initialization and operation of intelligent reflecting surface. The method may include transmitting a synchronization signal block burst to a reflection surface device. The method may also include receiving a first measurement report of the synchronization signal block burst received at the reflection surface device. The method may further include determining a transmit beam for a subsequent synchronization signal block burst based on a highest strength of signals in the synchronization signal block burst. In addition, the method may include receiving a second measurement report of the subsequent synchronization signal block burst. Further, the method may include determining an arrival angle of the subsequent synchronization signal block burst at the reflection surface device. The method may also include establishing a connection with the reflection surface device based on the transmit beam and the arrival angle.

    Abstract: Certain example embodiments provide systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for enhanced traffic co-existence with multi-panel user equipment (UE). For example, certain embodiments may avoid excess dropping and/or cancellation. Taking inter-UE uplink (UL) prioritization as one example, whenever a network node has to accommodate higher-priority traffic on resources overlapping with ongoing and/or incoming lower-priority transmissions, certain embodiments may instruct a UE to transmit on spare antenna panel(s).

    Abstract: In some example embodiments, there may be provided a method that includes receiving, by a user equipment, at least a reporting configuration from a network, wherein the reporting configuration is associated with at least a first group of channel measurement resources to be measured by the user equipment and a second group of channel measurement resources for which beam indexes or beam measurements are predicted by a machine learning model comprised at the user equipment; providing, as an input to the machine learning model comprised at the user equipment, at least a first set of measurements on the first group of channel measurement resources; and reporting, to the network, channel measurement information, wherein the channel measurement information contains at least an index representing a channel measurement resource of the second group of channel measurement resources.     Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for intelligent reflecting surface configuration. The method may include scanning for synchronization signal blocks and reflection surface synchronization signal blocks during a cell search at a frequency on a synchronization raster. The method may also include determining whether a synchronization signal block or a reflection surface synchronization signal block is detected as a result of the scanning. The method may further include selecting a detected synchronization signal block or a detected reflection synchronization signal block based on a measurement metric of the detected synchronization signal block and the detected reflection synchronization signal block. In addition, the method may include performing an access procedure with a network element using the selected synchronization signal block or the selected reflection synchronization signal block.

    Abstract: Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for beam failure detection and/or beam failure recovery procedures, for instance, for multi-panel user equipment (UEs) are provided. One method may include transmitting, by a UE, a beam report to a network to indicate an association between at least two downlink reference signals and at least two antenna panels at the user equipment or to indicate a selection of at least two downlink reference signals that will be used for downlink reception at the user equipment simultaneously. The method may also include activating the antenna panels corresponding to one or more of the at least two downlink reference signals, based on transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states updated by the network or based on the selection of the at least two downlink reference signals, and detecting beam failure based on at least two sets of beam failure detection resources for the active antenna panels.
