Abstract: A device for sensing and controlling a liquid level in a reservoir or container. The device uses a counterbalanced sensing element in the form of a displacer adapted to enter the liquid through the surface and displace a certain volume thereof. The displacer is mounted on an arm of the lever, the lever being counterbalanced to respond to a liquid head. The lever also carries a switch-actuating mechanism which is moved in response to change in the liquid level so that the switch controls the supply of liquid to the reservoir to maintain the desired level.
