A display apparatus and an image display method of the display apparatus are provided, and the image display method includes following steps. Video contents that include a plurality of single frame images are received. A detection zone of the single frame images is determined according to a current scale mode of the display apparatus, and the different scale modes correspond to the different detection zones. The detection zone of each single frame image is detected to determine an image format of the video contents. A play mode of the display apparatus is adjusted according to the image format, and the video contents which are scaled are displayed by the display apparatus in the play mode.

A disparity calculating method for a stereo matching system includes calculating a global energy matrix according to a first image, a second image and a previous disparity matrix of a previous frame; calculating a global disparity matrix according to the global energy matrix and a first stereo matching algorithm; calculating a local energy matrix between a first image block of the first image and a second image block of the second image according to the first image block, the second image block, a previous block disparity matrix and the global disparity matrix; and calculating a local disparity matrix between the first image block and the second image block according to the local energy matrix and a second stereo matching algorithm.

An image matching method is utilized for performing a stereo matching from a first image block to a second image block in a stereo matching system. The image matching method includes performing a matching computation from the first image block to the second image block according to a first matching algorithm to generate a first matching result; performing the matching computation between the first image block and the second image block according to a second matching algorithm to generate a second matching result and a third matching result; obtaining a matching error and a matching similarity of the first image block according to the second matching result and the third matching result; and determining a stereo matching result of the first image block according to the matching error and the matching similarity.

A method of detecting image format includes dividing a single-frame image into a plurality of macro-blocks; calculating a correlation coefficient of a left-half image of the single-frame image and a right-half image of the single-frame image as a first global similarity; calculating a correlation coefficient of a top-half image of the single-frame image and a bottom-half image of the single-frame image as a second global similarity; calculating a portion difference of each macro-block; comparing the portion differences of the left-half image and the right-half image, for acquiring a first local similarity; comparing the portion differences of the top-half image and the bottom-half image, for acquiring a second local similarity; and detecting an image format of the single-frame image according to the first global similarity, the second global similarity, the first local similarity, the second local similarity, a first threshold and a second threshold.

An image processing method for processing an interleaved image is disclosed. A reference window and direction windows matched to the reference window are set with respect to known pixel rows in the interleaved image. First parameters along candidate directions of the reference window is calculated, wherein the first parameters denote pixel differences between the reference window and the direction windows. A respective first direction, among direction groups of the candidate directions and corresponding to a minimum of the first parameters, is found. First and/or second portion direction of first and second portions of the interleaved image are found among the first directions. The first and the second portions of the interleaved image are identified according to the first parameters. A center pixel of the reference window is obtained by interpolation according to the first and the second portion directions.
