    Abstract: A sensor including: a generating unit; a detecting unit that detects the object to be detected generated by the generating unit; and a substrate at which the generating unit and the detecting unit are provided. The substrate is a flexible substrate that includes a first portion provided with the generating unit and a second portion provided with the detecting unit, the first portion and the second portion being integrated, and that takes a curved shape or a bent shape in which a surface of the first portion at which the generating unit is provided and a surface of the second portion at which the detecting unit is provided face each other. A plate support member is attached to a back-side surface of at least one of the surface of the first portion and the surface of the second portion.

    Abstract: There are provided a torque detection apparatus with high reliability and an electric power steering system and a vehicle which use the torque detection apparatus. The torque detection apparatus (30) detects the torque based upon a difference in the terminal voltage of the pair of detection coils. In this situation, the torque detection apparatus (30) outputs two analog torque signals (analog main torque signal Tma and analog sub torque signal Tsa) to the ECU (15), and outputs to the ECU (15) a digital communication signal S in which digital torque values obtained by converting the two analog torque signals to a digital format (main torque value Tm and sub torque value Ts) and diagnosis information Diag of the torque sensor circuit are superimposed.

    Abstract: A sensor includes a generator configured to generate a predetermined detection target, a detector configured to detect the detection target generated by the generator, and a substrate provided with the generator and the detector. The substrate includes a first portion provided with the generator, a second portion provided with the detector, a bent portion that is bent between the first portion and the second portion such that the generator and the detector face each other, and a ground pattern provided in a portion including the first portion, the second portion, and the bent portion. In the ground pattern, a ground pattern of the bent portion is narrower than a ground pattern of the first portion and a ground pattern of the second portion.

    Abstract: A sensor manufacturing method is a method for manufacturing a sensor including a generator that generates a predetermined detection target, a detector that detects the detection target generated by the generator, and a motion body that performs motion in the area in between the generator and the detector. In the method, the generator and the detector are positioned opposite to each other by either curving or bending a substrate including a first portion having the generator installed thereon and a second portion having the detector installed thereon that are formed in an integrated manner, and the substrate and the motion body are made to perform relative movement in such a way that the motion body enters the area in between the generator and the detector.
