    摘要: A liquid crystal display having a viewing angle which is controllable in side directions without forming a white sub-pixel is disclosed. The vertical alignment type liquid crystal display has a display screen including a plurality of pixels. Each pixel includes a display control region in which an alignment of liquid crystal molecules is controlled such that the liquid crystal molecules are disposed in an inclined orientation with respect to the display screen when a control voltage is applied, and a viewing angle control region in which the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules is controlled such that the liquid crystal molecules are disposed in a first side orientation or in a second side orientation when a control voltage is applied. The control voltage is applied through a viewing angle control line separated from the display control region.

The vertical alignment type liquid crystal display has a display screen including a plurality of pixels. Each pixel includes a display control region in which an alignment of liquid crystal molecules is controlled such that the liquid crystal molecules are disposed in an inclined orientation with respect to the display screen when a control voltage is applied, and a viewing angle control region in which the alignment of the liquid crystal molecules is controlled such that the liquid crystal molecules are disposed in a first side orientation or in a second side orientation when a control voltage is applied. The control voltage is applied through a viewing angle control line separated from the display control region.

    摘要: A color filter substrate for a liquid crystal display device includes sub-pixel regions of three primary colors of R, G, and B formed by colored layers of the three primary colors, and sub-pixel regions of complementary colors of the three primary colors, namely, C, M, and Y, each formed by arranging two of the colored layers of the three primary colors such that the two colored layers are adjacent to each other. The colored layer thickness in each complementary-color sub-pixel region is larger than the colored layer thickness in each primary-color sub-pixel region. To compensate for the thickness difference, a transparent resin layer having no influence on the transmittance of light is formed such that the surfaces of the colored layers contacting a liquid crystal layer are leveled.
