The colored layer thickness in each complementary-color sub-pixel region is larger than the colored layer thickness in each primary-color sub-pixel region. To compensate for the thickness difference, a transparent resin layer having no influence on the transmittance of light is formed such that the surfaces of the colored layers contacting a liquid crystal layer are leveled.
