摘要: A locking mechanism (10) comprising a housing (16) and a shackle (14) having a first side (44) and a second side (46). The shackle (14) is slidable between a primary closed position in which the first and second sides (44 and 46) are each engaged with the housing (16) and a primary open position in which the first side (44) is engaged with the housing (16) and the second side (46) is free from the housing (16). A port (65) is provided in the housing (16) exposing a portion of the first side (44) of the shackle (14) in the primary closed position. Severing the shackle (14) through the port (65) allows the shackle (14) to move from the primary open position to a secondary open position, from which the shackle (14) can move back to a secondary closed position.

摘要: A pontoon for a watercraft. The pontoon has a vertical inboard side and a generally angled bottom defined by the inboard side height of the pontoon being greater than its outboard side height. The bottom has planing surfaces that define one or more channels, which produce lift upon the watercraft increasing its speed on water. An inboard horizontal planing surface allows relatively low speed planing.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for determining print progress of a document being printed are provided. The print progress of a document is monitored during printing by monitoring means included in the printer. The percentage of the printing which has been completed is then computed in real time based on information received from the monitoring means. The computed percentage may be used to determine the print completion status of each print field of a document having a plurality of print fields. The computed percentage may be reported to a host device associated with the printer. The computed percentage may be stored in non-volatile memory of the printer and/or of the host device so that the computed percentage of completed printing is maintained during a power failure. The computed percentage of printing completed can be recovered from non-volatile memory upon power recovery.

摘要: A method, and a system of using the method, of controlling a motor having a rated capacity. The method includes determining the motor has been started, determining a plurality of operating parameters of the motor after the motor has started, determining a threshold from a portion of the operating parameters, comparing one of the determined operating parameters with the threshold, and operating the motor at a level corresponding to below the rated capacity when one of the determined operating parameters is greater than the threshold. When an electric motor having a control system according to the present invention lifts a load, drives a machine, or starts other motions, the control system automatically adjusts to a power level that corresponds to the load. In this way, the motor will not be allowed to exert any power or force to the load in excess of what is necessary. If the machine being driven becomes jammed, binds, or draws more power for some unexpected reason, the motor will be shut down to reduce or to limit damage to the load or the machine.

摘要: The present invention provides a USB peripheral device belonging to a model line of identical peripheral devices. The peripheral device includes a USB interface enabling connection of the peripheral device to a USB port of a host device. The peripheral device also includes a memory for storing a USB device identifier. The USB device identifier comprises a standard USB device identifier that is the same for all the peripheral devices of the model line. The standard USB device identifier identifies each peripheral device in the model line to the host device as identical devices, thereby preventing device driver reinstallation and communication port reassignment when swapping one peripheral device for another peripheral device from the same model line. This enables identical peripheral devices to be “hot-swappable” such that they can be interchanged on the host device, even when the host device is powered up and running. Corresponding methods are also provided.

摘要: A vertical reciprocating conveyor includes a frame and a carrier movable up and down with respect to the frame to elevate and lower articles supported by the carrier. The conveyor also includes a prime mover and at least one sprocket rotating in response to operation of the prime mover. At least one flexible support member extends across the carrier from one side to an opposite side, and engages the at least one sprocket such that the at least one flexible support member is collected and let out in response to the direction of rotation of the sprocket to raise and lower the carrier with respect to the frame. The conveyor also includes brakes on the opposite sides of the carrier. The brakes are biased to engage the frame to prevent the carrier from free falling. The brakes are held out of engagement with the frame by the at least one flexible support member, and are permitted to substantially simultaneously engage the frame on opposite sides of the carrier in response to slack forming in the flexible support member. The conveyor further includes a sensor for sensing slack in one of the flexible support members.
