摘要： Accurate metering and dispensing of small quantities of abrasive material comprised of particles or powder, or both is accomplished by feed apparatus comprising a rotatable tubular member having a threaded interior surface for transporting the abrasive material through the tubular member in response to rotation of the member about the axis thereof. The discharge portion of the tube is particularly adapted to dispense frequent, small quantities of the material rather than less frequent larger quantities.

摘要： There is disclosed apparatus for growing a ribbon of crystalline material which apparatus comprises a furnace adapted to contain a melt from which the ribbon is to be grown and crystal pulling means spaced from the furnace and including crystal seed holding means and sliding means moving said crystal seed holding means toward and away from the furnace. Extending between the furnace and the crystal seed pulling means are inner and outer bellows means spaced apart from each other to define a space therebetween. This space may be purged with an inert gas when pulling crystal.

摘要： A three-stage system movable in three orthogonal directions includes a pair of cam rods and a screw insertion device secured to one of the stages for displacement in three orthogonal directions. A cabinet has a screw receiving aperture pedestal with aperture locating cam surfaces in a given orientation and spacing. The cam rods are in the same orientation and spacing as the cam surfaces and when engaged align the screw insertion device with the screw aperture. After alignment, a screwdriver attached to the three-stage system drives the screw into the aperture. An automatic feed system feeds screws to the insertion device. A plurality of such three-stage systems are used for automatically attaching an apparatus to the cabinet.

摘要： Apparatus for transferring material from one vacuum tight hopper to another includes funnel means having a valve member at one end adjacent the one hopper for controlling flow and valve means the other end of the funnel means for similarly controlling flow. Between the other end of the funnel means and the valve means there is provided collector door means movable between open and closed positions to prevent the material to be transferred from impinging on the sealing surfaces of the valve means.

摘要： A method and apparatus for outgassing raw materials includes the steps of and means for heating the material to a temperature of about 800.degree. C. and maintaining that temperature for a first bake out period during which the material is maintained at a pressure of about 200 millitorr and for a second bake out period during which the material is maintained at a pressure of about 5 millitorr or less. During the first bake out period, an inert gas is backstreamed through the raw material.
