摘要: Method and apparatus for inspecting sheetlike material such as textile fabrics, the apparatus comprising a frame in which a full roll of fabric material is arranged in spaced relation to an empty spindle or bobbin which is driven, the material extending between the full roll and the empty spindle with a generally horizontal reach. An inspection board is mounted in the frame for movement along track elements, such movement being from a first position beneath the reach of material to a second position at the upper portion of the frame. During the movement of the inspection board, it engages the reach of material and properly positions the material on the inspection board when it arrives at the second position, at which the material is visually inspected by driving the empty spindle. Conveyor means may be provided from moving full rolls of material to and from the frame, and an arrangement is provided to permit the inspection board to carry a reserve empty spindle from the preceding inspection cycle for use in a subsequent inspection cycle.

摘要: Apparatus for feeding a traveling sheet of fabric material to one receiver roll for winding thereon until it is full, and then cutting the fabric and feeding it onto another receiver roll without interruption of the fabric travel. The apparatus includes a carriage for movement from one receiver roll to another, and pivoted arms mounted on the carriage for movement toward and away from the receiver rolls during movement of the carriage and during the time the receiver rolls are being wound. Driven feeder rollers are mounted on the arms in spaced relation to define a predetermined path of movement for the fabric directed toward a receiver roll, and a cutting element is disposed intermediate the driven feeder rolls to selectively cut the fabric when a full package has been wound on one receiver roll, and fabric directing means are provided to assure that the cut edge of the traveling fabric is guided along its path of movement to the receiver roll for winding thereon.

摘要: A method and apparatus for removing a section of a sheet of material being wound on a roll. The apparatus removes the section and then positions the lengths preceding and following the removed section in overlapping relationship with one another so that the overlapped lengths can be wound onto the roll. In the preferred embodiment, the preceding length of the sheet is temporarily displaced from the travel path by a vacuum plate and, during the temporary displacement, the section to be removed is moved downstream to a discharge position and the following length is moved into overlapping relationship with the displaced preceding length. Additional winding assemblies for winding the sheet onto other rolls can be used to provide a substantially continuous winding operation.

摘要: A batcher-type sheet material winding apparatus includes a pair of driven winding rollers in spaced axially parallel relation for supporting a winding core peripherally between the rollers. A rotating arm assembly positioned above the winding core discharges the fully wound winding core via a discharge roller on a supporting arm of the assembly. One winding roller is driven at a constant peripheral speed equal to the traveling speed of the material, the other roller being driven at either a slightly greater speed to achieve dense material compaction or at a gradually decreasing speed to achieve uniform material winding density. A stationary cutting blade and a rotating cutting blade mounted to the arm assembly shear the material upon discharge from the winding rollers. An air discharge nozzle arrangement wraps and tucks the leading edge of material following a cut about a replacement core for resumption of winding operation. A microprocessor automatically controls all apparatus operations.
