    摘要： A fabric grading method and system includes a computer and speech command system for converting oral commands spoken by an operator to signals for driving an inspection frame and a defect labeling device. The operator's spoken defect descriptions are automatically recorded and discriminated so that the defect labeler is only driven in response to detected major defects. The system also receives and records width and pick per inch measuring data for the fabric being inspected.

    摘要： Provided is an apparatus and a method for inspecting a cloth piece, by which dirt and a tear can be reliably distinguished. The apparatus for inspecting a cloth piece includes: a first inspection camera 41 for picking up an image of reflected light from a cloth piece T passing through the dark color section 21; and a second inspection camera 42 for picking up an image of transmitted light through the cloth piece T passing through the transparent section 22. The dirt and the tear can be reliably distinguished by determining an area where the reflected light and transmitted light are both darker than a surrounding area to be dirt and by determining an area where the reflected light is darker than the surrounding area and the transmitted light is brighter than the surrounding area to be the tear.

    摘要： Sheet material is moved along its length from a supply to a take-up spool and the material is inspected as it is moved. A garment pattern image is projected on and is moved with the material. The operator determines where the material is to be cut either from the length accumulated on the take-up spool or from the image projected on the material, and if a flaw in the material is detected, the operator determines if the flaw should be removed by identifying the pattern part in the garment from the image projected on the material where the flaw will appear. If the flaw is to be removed, the operator cuts the flaw out and splices the cut ends of material together at splice marks in the image projected on the material. The spools loaded with sheet material with this procedure are loaded in a creel, and the ends of the sheets of material from the spools in the creel are aligned in a vertically stacked arrangement and moved to a cutting apparatus where the garment pattern is cut in the stacked sheets of material.

    摘要： A twist detecting device for use in a detwisting apparatus for a roped web of knit or woven fabric in a fabric processing system comprising a pair of sensing drums each having a plurality of axial grooves formed on at least a portion of the circumferential surface thereof and spaced apart from each other so that said roped web passes between said drums in a direction generally parallel with said grooves; means for supporting said drums rotatably about their respective axes so that as said twist in said rope is tightened, engagement of said twisted rope with said grooves on either one or both of said drums causes simultaneous rotation of said drums in the same direction, the direction of said rotation depending on the direction of said twist; and means for detecting said direction of rotation to produce a corresponding electrical signal which actuates a detwister so as to decrease or remove said twist in said roped web.
