    摘要: A load control method is described herein that enables a base station to broadcast three downlink signals including a busy indicator, a maximum resource indicator and a minimum resource indicator to a mobile terminal. In response to receiving the downlink signals, the mobile terminal limits the utilization of a resource (e.g., bit rate, transmission power, power offset) it uses to transmit data to the base station. The mobile terminal may also send an uplink signal including a resource request to the base station. The base station can use the resource request to change the downlink signals if needed. It is with the proper use of these uplink/downlink signals that the behavior of the base station can be automatically optimized to the load situation.

    摘要: The present invention relates to fast random access methods and arrangements for the enhanced uplink dedicated channel of E-UTRAN (Evolved Universal terrestrial radio access network). A user equipment (UE) being in a low activity state sends a random access request comprising a preamble on a physical random access channel (PRACH) to a NodeB. The NodeB receives the request and sends in response to the received random access request a response comprising information associated with detection of the preamble on an acquisition indicator channel (AICH). The response comprises further in an extension of the AICH an indication of an action to be taken by the UE. In an embodiment of the present invention the action is to access the E-DCH and the response comprises configuration parameters to the E-DCH.

    摘要: Channel estimation accuracy is improved by adjusting the power level of a physical control channel allocated to a receiver based on the transmission rate and/or transport format of a corresponding physical data channel allocated to the same receiver. The physical control channel may be a DPCCH, E-DPCCH or other type of physical control channel allocated to a receiver for facilitating uplink or downlink communication. Regardless, the control channel power level is optimized for channel estimation as a function of data transmission rate and/or transport format. In one embodiment, control channel symbols are transmitted for use in channel estimation by adjusting the power level of a physical control channel allocated to a receiver based on the transmission rate and/or transport format of a physical data channel allocated to the receiver (200). Control channel symbols are transmitted to the receiver over the physical control channel at the adjusted power level (202). The receiver uses the control channel symbols to perform channel estimation (204).
