The present invention relates to an isostatic press for high pressure treatment of a product having a temperature below 0° C., said isostatic press comprising a pressure chamber adapted to contain a first pressure medium, and a container which is placeable in the pressure chamber. The container which is placeable in the isostatic press is adapted to hold the product and a second pressure medium, the container being closable to keep the first pressure medium separated from fluid communication with the second pressure medium. The container is further provided with a pressure transfer device adapted to transfer pressure from the first pressure medium to the second pressure medium, and a body which is made of a material with low adiabatic heat emission relative to adjoining substances, so that the body from adjoining substances absorbs heat, which is generated by adiabatic temperature rise during the high pressure treatment. The invention also relates to a method, a container, and a plant for high pressure treatment of a product having a temperature below 0° C. by means of an isostatic press.

A method for durability treatment or sterilization of a pumpable material by high pressure treatment of the same in a high pressure press for killing and/or inactivating harmful microorganisms and enzymes in the material includes placing the pumpable material into a flexible bulk container with a larger volume than the end-user or consumer containers in which the material is intended to be packed, placing the bulk container in a high pressure press and subjected to high pressure treatment, removing the bulk container from the press. The material may be moved from the bulk container to end-user containers by arranging, in a sterile manner provided, connector on the bulk container, which, via a tube connects the interior of the bulk container with an emptying system, for the purpose of draining the pumpable material into the end-user or consumer containers, or into an intermediate storage tank.

A method to provide a high pressure press with a replaceable wear liner. The wear liner is first inserted into the cylindrical pressure chamber of the press and the pre-stressed by the application of an excess pressure above the yield point. The excess pressure is sufficient to increase the diameter of the wear liner and produce a residual radial compressive stress that holds the wear liner in place. When the wear liner is removed from the press it is dismantled. The advantage of the invention is that the replaceable wear liner, and a high pressure press comprising it, may be relatively inexpensive to produce and the replaceable wear liner may be quickly and simply replaced.
