摘要: A sleeve for optical communication and method for manufacture for the sleeve for optical communication, for which withdrawal force for ferrules, which are generally used in the technical field of optical communication, or connection loss between ferrules is a predetermined value, and for which manufacturing steps are reduced so as to allow reduction of manufacturing cost. The invention is made by press-molding ceramic feedstock, which after cold isostatic pressing and sintering are performed thereto, and is made so that an inner circumferential surface, of a through-hole for inserting a ferrule formed on the length-direction of the axis, has a sintered state.

摘要: A method of correcting the shape of a brittle cast component such as a low pressure turbine blade. The method includes steps of placing the component against a creep mold having a surface defining the desired profile of the component and HIP treating it to creep deform the component to the desired shape whilst consolidating it and removing gas and shrinkage porosity.

摘要: There is a description of an apparatus that produces corrugated walls in a continuous manner. Prior to being fed into the apparatus there is a composite consisting of an outer layer of a woven or non-woven material having a layer of a cementitious material thereon. Two composites are combined in the apparatus with a layer of polyurethane there between. The apparatus has opposing molding tracts therein through which the composites are fed. The opposing molding tracts have a multiple of inflatable pockets thereon. The spaces between the pockets form the corrugations into which the composites are being pressed. At the end of the run of the molding tracts, the molded corrugated wall is then delivered to a roller run to be dried to its last extent.

摘要: A cold isopressing method and mold for compacting a granular ceramic material in which the granular ceramic material is introduced into a cylindrical pressure bearing element of an isopressing mold. The cylindrical pressure bearing element is sufficiently rigid so as to maintain its shape during the introducing of the granular ceramic material. Such element is also sufficiently resilient in a radial direction thereof to deform and bear against the granular ceramic material upon the application of the hydrostatic pressure and to substantially return to its original shape upon the relaxation of the hydrostatic pressure, thereby to allow retraction of the cylindrical pressure bearing element from the granular ceramic material after compaction. In a further aspect, an isopressing method and mold is provided in which the cylindrical pressure bearing element thereof is provided with an enlarged end bore to form an enlarged end section in the finished ceramic tube for sealing purposes.

摘要: A method for subjecting a molded article formed of a powder material and having a complicated shape to isostatic pressing includes covering the molded article with a water impermeable rubber film. The surface area of the rubber film is larger than the surface area of the molded article. In the method, the rubber film follows the complicated shape, e.g., a shape having notch(es), throughhole(s), dent(s), and bend(s), or a cylindrical shape, of the molded article. As a result, the rubber film is rarely damaged during isostatic pressing and the ease of removal of the rubber film after isostatic pressing is significantly improved.
