摘要： Disclosed is a crucible of pyrolytic boron nitride (PBN) for molecular beam epitaxy for melting of the source material, with which the troubles due to adhering of the molten source material in the form of drops caused on the quality of the epitaxial layer can be greatly decreased. Namely, the inner surface of the crucible is free from pits or other irregularities responsible to the adhering of the melt when the growth plane, which can be exposed by stripping of the surface layer of 0.50 mm thickness by cleavage, has a surface roughness Ra not exceeding 2.0 .mu.m and Rmax not exceeding 18 .mu.m. Such a PBN crucible can be prepared by the CVD method to deposit PBN on the surface of a graphite core of which the surface roughness Ra does not exceed 2 .mu.m.

摘要： A roll tape 1 is held by a tip end portion of an arm 3 connected by a pivot shaft 4 fixed to a rotating body 5, and an enlarged diameter curved surface portion 6 is provided that comes into contact with the arm 3 that pivots at a time of rotation. In an angle range in which the arm 3 is in contact with the enlarged diameter curved surface portion 6, the arm 3 is pushed in a rotation outward direction at the time of rotation such that the tape stretched from the roll tape 1 to an object 9 is wound around the object 9 while being pulled out. In an angle range in which the arm 3 is not in contact with the enlarged diameter curved surface portion 6, the tape previously pulled out from the roll tape 1 is wound around the object 9 while being wound up on the object 9. By repeating this alternately, displacement of the object from the rotation axis is suppressed, and proper winding is performed.

A distance between a bottom of each of the plurality of embossments and a border of the curved apertured portion is at least 4.5 mm.

摘要： A color cathode ray tube including a generally rectangular shadow mask with at least a long side, a short side and a corner, and having a curved apertured portion with a multiplicity of electron-transmissive apertures, a curved imperforate portion surrounding and integral with the apertured portion and a skirt portion bent back from a periphery of the curved imperforate portion. A generally rectangular support frame is provided for suspending the shadow mask by spot welding the skirt portion thereto within a panel portion of the color cathode ray tube. The skirt portion is provided with a plurality of slits extending in a direction of a height of the skirt portion and a plurality of embossments extending in the direction of the height of the skirt portion in one of a long side and a short side of the skirt portion. The plurality of slits and the plurality of embossments are juxtaposed around a circumference of the skirt portion with a majority of the plurality of slits in the one of the long side and the short side of the skirt portion being unbridged slits or with the plurality of slits extending a distance no greater than 70% of the height of the skirt portion from a rear end of the skirt portion on an opposite side thereof from the panel portion.

A majority of the slits in the one of the long and shirt sides of the skirt portion are slits delimiting continuous openings in the skirt portion which are not bridged by members other than the support frame.
