Abstract:
Communication systems may benefit from connection setup improvements. For example, fifth generation communication systems may benefit from low latency service connection setup for 5G network terminal in new service areas. A method can include receiving an indication of preference for services from a 5G network terminal. The method can also include determining that the indication indicates a preference for low latency services. The method can further include determining whether the low latency services are offered in a tracking area of the 5G network terminal. The method can additionally include communicating with the 5G network terminal regarding the availability of the low latency services.
Abstract:
The present invention provides apparatuses, methods, computer programs, computer program products and computer-readable media regarding integrated services processing for mobile networks. The method comprises associating, at the base station of a mobile packet network, a service port of a radio modem of user equipment in the mobile packet network with a user plane packet processing function, sending, by the base station, a service frame received from said service port to the user plane packet processing function of the base station, determining, by the base station, at least one destination tunnel end point out of a plurality of destination tunnel end points according to forwarding rules, and sending, by the base station, the service frame to the selected destination tunnel end point by encapsulating the service frame into a frame of a transport network underlay which is addressed to the destination tunnel end point, wherein the destination tunnel end point is associated with a physical or virtual interface on another radio modem of another user equipment in a mobile packet network or on a fixed network termination.
Abstract:
The present invention provides apparatuses, methods, computer programs, computer program products and computer-readable media regarding using cellular identifiers in intelligent transport systems (ITS) communication infrastructure. The method includes composing a header of a message to be distributed within the intelligent transport system by the communication node, the communication node being capable of communicating at least in accordance with a cellular network, and inserting into the header at least one identifier according to the cellular communication network of the communication node.
Abstract:
Certain embodiments generally relate to mobile communications networks, such as, but not limited to, the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN), Long Term Evolution (LTE) Evolved UTRAN (E-UTRAN), LTE-A, and/or future mobile network technologies, such as, for example 5th Generation (5G). A method may include detecting, at a mobile network entity, that context information pertaining to a mobile terminal has changed. The method may also include publishing updated context information through implementation of a publish/subscribe mechanism.
Abstract:
The present invention addresses method, apparatus and computer program product for on demand virtual switching in 5th generation mobile networks. When a condition is detected that one or more user equipments need a network service, a locally switched or routed virtual network between the user equipments is created, on demand, within a radio access network. The network nodes of the radio access network serving the user equipments in the radio access network are selected and changed according to a movement of the user equipments by respectively employing the network nodes following a service policy.
Abstract:
A method including obtaining information including at least one indicator at a first cell; and using said information to determine the available capability of said first cell for load balancing between said first cell and at least one second cell in a self-organising network.
