    Abstract: Two or more bitstreams of a content representation are obtained. A first bitstream is encoded according to a first format and a second bitstream is encoded according to a second format. The two or more bitstreams are merged into a multi-format bitstream. First signaling indicates there are data of the first format and of the second format, and second signaling indicates mapping of NAL units between the first and second formats in the multi-format bitstream. A decoder receives a multi-format bitstream and first signaling therein indicating there are data of a first format and of a second format in the multi-format bitstream Second signaling is received indicating mapping of NAL units between the first and second formats. Data are separated, from the multi-format bitstream using the first signaling and the second signaling, the data having the first format and related data having the second format. The data is decoded.
